If you mean the Shadowlands expansion, that is already included in the game client everyone plays on, you just need to hit INSTALL on the WoW game page on the launcher.
The character boost you purchased will be located in-game on the character select screen.
If you purchased the boost in error thinking it was the expansion itself on sale, you can use the Support link at the top of the page to request a refund.
There may have been some confusion, Areki. From what I can see you purchased the Character Boost, which takes a new or existing character to level 50. There isn’t anything to download if you already have the game. You’ll just log in and there should be a boost icon on your character selection screen. Clicking that allows you to start the boost process.
If you were looking to purchase the Shadowlands expansion, that’s something different. You can purchase one of the three versions in our shop here.
The Heroic and Epic versions include a character boost.
If you made a mistake in purchasing the boost you’ll want to submit a ticket for a refund: You should be able to use this.
There certainly seems to be some confusion on my part or, mistake.
I was under the impression that the - Shadowlands-Level Character Boost - for AUD$ 53.50 was a a holiday Special with the Basic Shadowland expansion. I thought I might it self get that instead of the $59.95 Basic version.
But like I said confused/mistaken.
Thanks for your quick response but for the time being and until the Forums show a more favourable response towards Shadowland I will go for the refund.
Thing about relying on the forums in that way is that, typically speaking, people who are happy and enjoying the game aren’t coming to the forum to say so. They’re in-game having fun
Only a very small number of players actually ever come to the forums and in many cases, it’s due to having an issue or wanting to complain about something.
As for the sale, none of the versions of the expansion are currently on sale. The character boost service (which is separate) is indeed on sale, but you’d still be better off getting the Heroic version of Shadowlands if you want both the expansion and the boost
I have been playing RPG and like for 65 years plus. I don’t go for the trimmings around the game, the contents are the important thing to me . Heroic version is a money spinner for Blizzard doesn’t add anything to the end result in my opinion.
The Basic version will do for me as it does in warcraft whenever I get around to it.
Gawd, I haven’t even finished half the content of the Battle for Azeroth and here I am looking, at my age, at the next version.
Curiosity…
The good part about the current game is that BfA is free with the monthly game time so you can do the content. New characters, or leveling characters, can all level from level 10 up to 50 in BfA. So, you can level AND do what you want for content, without buying anything more.
For some clarity. Since we introduced the level boost as a means help new and returning players to be able to jump into an expansion and play with their friends who may have been playing all along, it has been included with the most recent purchased expansion.
We received a lot of feedback that some players simply do not want the boost and felt like they were paying for something that they’d never use.
In addition, the Collector’s Edition of an expansion includes many physical and cosmetic items like mounts, pets, etc… which some players who don’t want to purchase the Collector’s Edition or are unable to acquire it, still like to be able to get them.
So, listening to that feedback our Devs decided to create multiple versions so that those who don’t want anything but the expansion can purchase that. Those who like the boost can purchase that version (also receiving a flying mount and cosmetics), and those who want all the cosmetics available in the Collector’s Edition can get a version with those.
This was good and I am glad you did it. The way the boost was packaged before you HAD to get it, even if you did not want it. It meant the price for the Base version of the game was higher…for something you did not want.
Removing it and offering the base version for a lower price was awesome. I personally appreciated it. Money is tight on fixed income. I like having the option to get it without the frills.
Doesn’t work quite as easy at present, leveling in BfA I mean.
After I ran into repeated duplications of earned items, 4 runs in Udlum repell black… I got 4 identical loot - Nefarious Tormentors Vambrace - the same happened in Pandaria lack Empire Cache - 2runs Nefarious Tormentors Waistguard - Only can Use One at a Time
World Quests only hand out 62 to 80 level goods if any to a level 100 player.
So I decided to roll a Horde MM Hunter, as I never played Horde, in the new version of easy levelling. The first ten levels with easy instructions for the new player are good. Pat on the back to Blizzard. But things did not work out well as things got more difficult.
Cut a long story short - I had to give up near the end of level 44 - short of fire power, could not compete with my 8dps bow against even single targets anymore. Spend more time in the graveyard then in the game.
26 levels without a weapon upgrade makes life a bit hard.
I am only new to the majority of you but I got enough characters to level 120 to have some idea how to play the game.
Did you not add any of the Artifact Relics to your weapon, Areki? You should get them while questing. Adding those to the relevant slots on your Artifact Weapon should raise the iLevel and related damage output.
Nothing like that came around in the Horde version. Can’t remember a quest for MM Hunter in Horde to give me anything like that. Or am I on the wrong track ?
