I'm tired of this Twitch Client poo. At first I dealt with the unnecessary data clogging my computer, streams being shoved down my throat, and social media B.S that harms my privacy but now at this point it doesn't even work anymore. It doesn't detect any of my games or update my addons, it's just a waste of space trying to get me to join in on the kappa cancer. Is there any source to download the old school curse client that simply did it's job of updating addons, without all the streaming B.S attached?
Could just manually install.
It's not exactly hard, just drag and drop files into your addons folder.

I have probably 50+ addons that get updates monthly, I don't want to have to make dozens of searches on curse checking every month. It's much more convenient having a client track when your addons need updating, no strings attached.

Update: Switched to Minion https://minion.mmoui.com/ provides all the addon services that Curse had including Update All, but without the streaming and voice chat social media B.S, never switching back.

Back when I had it, it wouldn't update half my addons and of those that it did, caused them all to screw up because it did something incorrectly.
Would not reccomend imho.
Just tagging so I can check back next month to see OP complaining about Minion
I have to believe these guys are trolling. Twitch has stopped updating my addons even though the settings are correct. I did it manually before I had curse. Curse saved me many hours if not days. I may try this minion thing. It is still in beta, so I will have to see how it works. Twitch is not sorting my addons by status any more either, so I have been looking through the list top to bottom daily for the last few days.

Wow Minion found 11 out of date addons. I wonder if they could possibly be beta versions.
I agree with the OP with the twitch thing. I refuse to install twitch under any circumstance (been playing with outdated add-ons) I'm going to check on the minion site but does anyone know if wow matrix is any good?

This is what's wrong with the player base, IMO. Too many want fast and easy, no need to make decisions and take action.

No.
It doesnt support half the add ons I have.
After 3 or 4 mos of refusing to use it, I finally downloaded Twitch and have it set to open to the add on page. I avoid all the chat and broadcast BS that way.
This thread is pretty much proof people will complain about anything.
Only problem I had with it was when it changed to twitch and it forced me to remake my account a dozen times over.
Now I just have to wait for the app to do its avalanche of updates every few weeks. None of which ever apply to me. It feels like bloatware, although I still use it in hopes one day they’ll fix it.
@corona you’re pretty much proof that misery loves company.

Curse was great and all, until it kept freezing up on me for 0 reason at all - ushering me to install twitch since that's who they sold out to. I literally just open twitch to update my addons, then I log out and exit it; never opening it or using it until its needed again. Out of sight out of mind. It exists for 1 reason and 1 alone - to update my addons when a new patch lands, then gtfo of my sight. I don't care what other crap it can do - "you pass butter."
TL;DR - Just install twitch and go about your day or manually (oldskool) install them. It is equivalent to everything else you'll attempt to use EXCEPT it supports literally every addon under the sun. Well, every one that I use anyways.
edit: removed "and"; replaced with "except"

I open the client once a day, do updates & close out the program. If you dont use it for anything else, I dont know why you would leave it open. Addon updates dont come out that often unless there is a new patch.
i put mods in manually.... i dont need an application to put files in folders, its not diffucult.
i only update my addons when they need updates (DBM/RCLoot/etc/savedinstances) most dont need updating until expansions drop or some big UI change happens.

I literally only open the Twitch app once a week, hit the update addons button, and then close it. o.O What are you people doing exactly that is making the client so invasive?
Mine opens to the addon list. I never get bothered by streams or such. Of course, I do keep my status set to "invisible" after some weirdo (probably a scammer or camgirl) try to chat me up, so maybe that helps.
