Downgraded to "member" again

Ha, you trust your dog more then your Parents or boss, gotta say i would agree with that. Dogs>People

Likewise - it was a second job keeping up with all that QQ! Was glorious though.

I got it years ago, had it for a while, and then took a break from WoW and lost it. When I realized I needed to maintain it, I stopped caring completely. I don’t like jumping through hoops on repeat. Edit: In fact, I just looked at my profile and it says I joined on this character in '22 but that’s not even close to true. So that’s funny.

The WoW forum sees each individual character as an “account”. If you change the name, or server transfer, it starts over as a new account. The forums store it as char-server, not as your Battletag-char name or something more permanent.

Fixed it :smirk_cat:

I know the forums are run by a different company so I’m curious - is this because of that company? Or did blizz ask for it to be different characters/accounts?

I truly did not want to add the cat part in, Buuuuut Dogs>People>Cats.

No the trust level is how much they trust me, just like on the forums, your trust level is how much they trust YOU to post videos and links, if WoW does not trust you then you might post links and videos that are not appropriate.

Heh I spelled appropriate on the first try, my speeeling is getting better.

Then i would like to see your trust level for those 3

I don’t trust my dog, my parents and boss won’t steal a ham sandwich sitting on my keyboard while I am in the bathroom. Well… dad might…

 my fur babies won’t take food even on the edge of the desk unless i tell them to. They will however sit there and stare at it, like they are trying to lift it with their telekentic power or something.

Cats? Well its not like you leave a piece of salmon on the edge of the desk…

Dogs? replace “salmon” with “piece of chicken”

Blizzard asked for that customization for the WoW forums. The default is to operate off a single user account - a Battletag. That is what every other Blizzard forum has. They were trying to replicate the old WoW forum character style of posting. However the new Discourse software does not do a good job of that and the “solution” to get character posting, caused a whole host of issues with forum “accounts”. The forums were just not made to operate this way at the core.

Seems like they stopped caring a long time ago, I bet the CEO just figures we are a bunch of children who flag each other and post endless drama, so they focus less on the forums and more on the game.

The forums have always been a “nice to have”, not a core part of what Blizzard does. Talks have gone on about removing the forums totally, and some game companies have done just that.

The current status at Blizzard is that the forums are supported using the Discourse software. The folk involved in WoW communications are well aware of the deficiencies of the WoW forums in particular, and have raised those issues up for changes. However, when and if that ever happens is up in the air. You are probably right that the forums are a lower priority than the games. I don’'t blame them, it makes sense that the thing players come here to play is what gets the attention  Forums don’t make them any money, games do.

they can always replace the forums with Discord like New World and Wizard 101 did

Wizard101 replaced their forums with discord? :o When did that happen?

i would have to look it up XD. December 6th 2023

" Wizards,

As we mentioned on November’s KI Live, the Wizard101 forums were set to be locked and safely stored in an archived state today. We have begun this process.

The forums have been with us for many years and there are so many great resources that remain, so we want to make sure they are still accessible with the lock instead of a complete closure for as long as possible. This includes several community guidelines posts that will eventually make their way onto the official website.

You can reference the forum posts and share them as needed, but from this point forward we ask that future discussions and content be posted on the official Wizard101 Discord channel (discord.gg/wizard101), social media, and community sites.

Discord is now the official and primary discussion area for Wizard101, so you can consider it the direct replacement for the forums. Our team will also be using it to publish important announcements and game updates, so it can be your one-stop news shop moving forward.

Thanks, forums, it was great to have you for this long! "

that was the post i found. I find it kind of Odd that they want to use Discord of all things something that requires an age of 13+ to even use for a game that while targeted towards family play has a large playerbase of under 13.

precisely why you should refuse to bother with this garbage forum grind.
dont participate, then they figure out that making their forum just one more grind was a pretty petulant thing to do.

The problem with the forums here is there is no incentive to behave and no detriment to not behaving.

Who wants to have a mature and captivating discussion here about a game issue when people will flag your topic and/or call it stupid by saying “is it Sunday yet?” just because they disagree with it?

Might as well just be downgraded to Peon.

That’s crazy, I wonder why they did that. To be fair, though, everyone I knew that played was an adult. It’s a pretty fun game and I still enjoy playing it from time to time c:
