Others do it all the time.
This is never a good excuse for anyone to do something.
Yeah, it is. If others don’t get suspended/banned for it. Then why should I?
I truly believe that what happened what a malicious attack from alliance players all reporting my toon. They would never report their own players, which is why alliance got away with it for months. But horde cant hold it for a week without getting the ban hammer dropped
You got caught, just like the police pull over one person speeding out of all the other speeders.
I’ll accept that. I was making some emotes and talking aloud with /s. If i dont do any of that, then the alliance cant target me to report me.
It baffles me that people actually abuse the reporting system though. You can’t go into an alliance zone and /yell without getting muted. Horde zones have alliance players yelling all the time and nobody cares.
Super different dynamics based on faction.
I would also note that the players that reply to this thread, alliance toons are all trying to shut me down with “Press X for doubt” and saying that I did other stuff. Horde players here seem to have more empathy. Its crazy, there’s an actual difference with peoples mentality and faction
There is no double standard. You got reported enough times to trigger a response. All this nonsense is automated these days with only the tiniest bit of actual human intervention. If you want to see others banned too, just get people to report them en masse.
Ban deserved. Stop safespotting.
Well, if Dot says it, its true. Perhaps the ban was warranted.
But, a written warning from the GM that moved us would have worked too. I wasn’t looking at the screen and I was moved, how do i know i wasn’t feared or mind controlled to that spot? Without the obvious checking logs. (some people dont do that)
This triggers me. It’s something I would never ever do. It’s toxic/immoral
I don’t disagree, but you can’t complain about only one side getting banned when that is the reason why only one side got banned.
There’s been a LOT of things happen in Classic that shouldn’t have happened, and people took advantage of. None of these things resulted in players getting suspended.
Abusing layers to hop and farm xp, arcane crystals, black lotus, etc.
Abusing Druid mechanics in AV to farm rep faster.
Abusing matchmaking system to premade AV.
Abusing Terrain to gain an unfair advantage in WSG.
Abusing mind control to Mc people out of WSG.
Abusing terrain to skip objectives in AV.
Abusing leashing mechanics to single pull Drek/vann in AV to kill without killing watmasters,
Abusing poly/fear and terrain exploits to get on top of BWL orb.
The list goes on and on and on. NONE of these exploits have led to players being banned. If and when Blizzard decided they shouldn’t be allowed, they changed the game to no longer allow them. Why would 1 random person get banned when literally thousands of people are doing this very same thing?
Regardless of how many alts you want to brigade here, my opinion stays the same. You were banned for some other behavior, and the timing is just convenient to make this thread claiming you’ve been treated unfairly.
obvious cheater and hacker. needs a permanent ban for this type of cheating and disruptive play.
I know what you’re saying. Same thing happened to me. I was driving home from work and got stopped by the police for speeding. I know for a fact that many others have exceeded the speed limit in that spot before and did not get stopped. Furthermore I have exceeded the speed limit on that road many times before and didn’t get stopped which at the very least implied that speeding was acceptable along that stretch of the highway.
The police need to make clear and concise rules about this stuff. Which roads are the speed limits enforced and which roads are they ignored. They need to either stop and ticket everyone who is speeding every time they speed or stop no one at all.
it sounds like what happened is that a GM saw you, in person, sitting above the BWL orb, then teleported you down, then after you teleported back up, he banned you, again in person
this is the sort of stuff that blizzard should be doing; having actual, real live people be paid to go out there into the world and look for people who are breaking the rules, and banning them
you know, instead of having it just be done by automation
I’m surprised that blizzard is actually doing this; I thought they were too cheap for that
No it isn’t. If what you’ve stated is accurate, there’s no reason for your account to be suspended. You should protest.
If it isn’t accurate, then you should make this same post on the Customer Support forums, and see the response. Then link it back here
You would have a point if police were duty-bound to arrest or ticket for such violations. They are not. They have pure discretion.
Ah, the lemming mentality. That mentality that drives an entire herd of lemmings over a cliff and into the sea. Just so you know, that is not a very valid reason for doing ANYTHING in life or a video game. To quote my mother, “If everyone else was jumping off of a bridge, would you do it?”
Ban deserved.
Thanks.
Ah. So that’s the difference between blizzard and the police. I see now where my analogy failed. Thanks.
Not much of a difference either, Blizzard has pure discretion with its own game as well. There’s not a “clear rules” matter at stake as the rules are more or less whatever Blizzard deems them to be. At least police have to have a valid basis for an arrest to avoid 4A problems, but they still don’t need to arrest everyone they see for every violation they see.
Well maybe they are starting to crack down? Better late than never.
Your insight in this area is unparalleled. But there is one word you might consider to gain a deeper understanding of the points I’ve been making here. “sarcasm”
