Congrats, I will agree that I was exaggerating the comparison to rank 13 to now, But some classes use some of these pieces being farmed for until Kara…
Blue working late.
This sounds extremely defensive. A LOT of people were really glad when R14 gear was available for grind when Original TBC came out and TONS OF PEOPLE did this grind back then, myself included.
I’m not angry at people specifically, I’m just angry that the experience isn’t what I had when I played in original TBC playing my mage going for this r14 mageblade as I only grinded rank 10 back then.
I just wish that the Honor rules used in prepatch, S1 and S2 were still in effect. The rules for Honorable kills that followed the old 1.8 CP list on Vanilla ranking HK rules divided by 10. It was literally Vanilla HK by rank divided by 10 lol.
It is difficult to find this on a 2.4.3 reference server because its simply not on 2.4.3 as this system was dumped in Season 3 to normalize honor kills overall and apply diminishing returns to stop HK farming in battlegrounds.

This video taken during prepatch has countless solo kills that matchup with this data to confirm this. Ranking data for HKs were used during prepatch and for about half of TBC’s lifetime before the HKs themselves were normalized to 14 honor for level 60 and 20.9 honor for level 70 in 2.3.

Instead in 2.5 we have the 2.3 change to honor that implemented normalized HK values for all players regardless of rank that spawned the backlash going into 2.4. The reasoning for this was that blue posts mentioned the lack of strategic value behind HK farming over objectives that happened and decided to also implement “higher honor for objectives”.
Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, Eye of the Storm
- Additional bonus honor is now awarded upon conclusion of the battle.

The 2.4 changes needed to fix how bad honor gains were in 2.3 and they did 2 things. There was a removal of the diminishing returns on HKs and added the PvP Quest “Concerted Efforts” again which allowed 1 WSG, 1 AB, 1 AV and 1 EOTS mark to be repeatedly turned in for honor.
TLDR - Honor grinding felt weird before the fix on prepatch having Vanilla base honor kill co-efficients on objectives and it felt weird and bad after the nerf too. It will feel weird with the 2x bonus honor too. Prepatch and even the first two seasons of TBC ran off HKs that used the 1.8 CP system from vanilla divided by 10. I just want it to feel right…
lol excellehnt
Cant wait to see how long it takes at lvl 70 to farm out 300k honor when this goes back to “normal”
Thanks for listening to your player base on quite a few things lately. Whenever there is a lot of negative feedback changes seem to be made to correct so that’s good.
Can you clarify when the realm restart is? In a few hours or on May 24th?
Blizzard!
You have a chance to make everyone forgot about this horrible mistake you made with this 90% nerf. Increase this by 5X what is it now or 50% of what it was before and I believe most players will have forgotten about this in a few weeks. However, increase it only by 2x what it is now, and we will all remember this massive f** up you made leaving all pretty sour.
When is the server restart?
So I was looking at AV before the “ bug fix “ aka honor nerf and a commander kill got 443 honor. After the “ bug fix “ aka honor nerf that same commander gave 43 honor .
Now with this miraculous event of doubling honor that commander will give 86 honor.
And I’m still curious about all the scout kills . I went over a video of my last BG and lo and behold EVERY kill was a scout kill .
Still feels pretty stingy on the honor. 3 - 4x would be better. Considering it was nerfed “to a factor of 10”.
Good luck getting people to resubscribe and/or pvp during pre patch.
,Blizzard never admitted they were ‘wrong’ in the previous data set because they most likely weren’t, it was a massive mistake to accidently give 10x honor because the retail players on this forum think that that’s how its suppose to be and it was a ‘nerf’ and not a bug fix lmao. So you give them 2x to appease them (only til prepatch, mind you, in tbc it’ll be 1x again) and they still whine and complain about double honor lmaooooooooo
Scroll up to Zingf’s post, it’s only 5-10 posts above yours.
TL;DR: Blizzard was wrong.
assuming that zinqgf is right, if they fixed what he suggests, it wouldn’t yield double honor like we have right now
you act like that matters at all. the entire purpose of them giving us access early was so we could level.
honestly parroting that argument doesnt make it any less low iq
then dont invest time to grind it? go do aq20 or zg with a pug for gear LOL the whole point is its not supposed to be a handout, say thank you there you can boost a character to 58 and play blood elf and draeneis 2 weeks early
Can’t this former shell of a good company do anything right?
You guys at Blizzard needa run a 5 whys on monday about how you utterly BOTCHED this.
Its still not even close to correct
100% right here.
don’t approve of idiocy that changes nothing. This is literally a nonchange to try and quiet the masses.
What is correct then? If I may ask, you seem really certain about it.
