DoT Purging?

Maybe its just my bracket, but the current shuffle strat I’m noticing is to insta-purge my DoTs as soon as I apply them. Either deliberately by the healer or some other combination of the endless multitude of class spells I am not aware of, I find I spend a lot of my time just trying to get pain and touch to stick. I’ve only started noticing it recently.

Is this a counter-strat or am I misplaying into other minkies who are also misplaying into me? What do I do differently?

thanks babes love you hate you love you

Kind of a confusing question, people are always dispelling dots when they can. Usually the first global an enemy healer uses is dispelling my first application of VT/SWP. It’s situational, but your bet is to try and use the horror dispel protection and follow it up with more CC to put them behind.

I feel like I haven’t been seeing it up to this point, I guess is my observation.

Which lead me to think ‘maybe they know better than to eat the protection’. And now they don’t seem to mind it, which got me confused and wondering what I should be doing with this information.

How often does putting them behind keep them behind, versus just bouncing right back up to full?

Also, are we better off leaning more towards the rot mentality of every dot for everyone, or building into 30s goes with voidweaver?

I should just look this stuff up but I prefer the personal touch

Pretty much this, generally at the start of the match if the spriest gets dots up and the other team is still positioned far enough away, I’m dispelling it and eating it because there’s no reason really not to.

Huh.

The heck have -I- been watching all this time lol

It’s possible you were just lower so the more you play and the higher you get the more you’re going to see it. I just had a shuffle where a MW had 54 dispels and it felt like I couldn’t do anything the entire time.

If healers arent pressured to be healing and can just eat the mini fear, then they will dispel your dots. This is the way it goes. You have to relentlessly reapply them and outpace their ability to dispel

It’s kind of unfortunate that the penalty for dispelling spriest dots is less than the GCD’s or mana used to actually heal through them. But as said, they can’t really do that if everyone is low health and they’re falling behind

I agree with your conclusion, vampiric touch needs a buff to it’s penalty

I went to mass dispell a guys ice block once and forgot his buddy was an aff lock

Rip

Agreed, should get rid of the kickback entirely.

best way to keep a shadow priest under pressure is to dispell on cooldown honestly. You look at it as its too easy to dispell, most healers view it as “if i dont dispell and eat the cc i’ll lose”

I got you fam, I never dispell spriest dots

its annoying but you have to punish them for dispelling your dots. make them regret it. line it up with a silence and then fear and if you can psychic horror and pump out dmg while doing so. they won’t dispel again and if they do rinse and repeat.
