“Sarcasm is “a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter gibe or taunt”. Sarcasm may employ ambivalence, although sarcasm is not necessarily ironic. Most noticeable in spoken word, sarcasm is mainly distinguished by the inflection with which it is spoken and is largely context-dependent.”

I was just trying to point out that he was being sarcastic in a way I thought you would find amusing … apologies if I missed the mark. My son complains about my ‘mom jokes’ and I guess this was a bad one.
So, my son made me watch the DOOM Eternal gameplay video release by Nvidia - amazing detail (we watched on our 1440p monitors - any difference at 4k?) and performance!
Hey Sal - Question: At what point does 4k gaming become more mainstream/viable? I often see people referring to 1440p/144hz as the ‘sweet spot’ and that’s where we are in my house. Are we CPU or GPU bound? Is it a matter of monitors with a faster refresh rate or that are more afforable?
It’s harder to maintain because people buy parts always looking ahead and since 4k is on the farther end of the performance metric when new games come out it’s the first thing to fall short as your parts get older.
So this is why a lot of people still play 1080p because it’s easier to run.
2080ti could power most new games at 4k when it came out, but it struggles even with rtx off in new stuff like msflightsim2020.
If you target 1080p or 1440p 144 with the same card it will power it at high refresh when the card is new, and at least still manage 60fps longer when it’s old.
4k/60 today turns into 4k/30 when it’s old, and that’s a miserable experience
If I actually focus on my work I can probably finish up early. Now I want to test this myself. How accurate is it if I just set the resolution to 200%?
