Doom Alert: The Demon hunters have been forgotten

It’s crazy you post these arbitrary meaningless numbers and then say you can just play whatever you want. Fortunately we have statistics we can use to prove otherwise lol

At least you beat that one guy in lfr (doing damage numbers people were doing back in September)

Aren’t they all arbitrary meaningless numbers on content people have been on since September? I’ve never claimed to be pushing top Mythic or anything, that’s why I say I don’t have to struggle with misery builds, and why I say the experience is ok without them. Most people out there aren’t pushing that content.

A lot of them do still come here though. They read about how Havoc HAS to do something in order to play the game and about how much it sucks and about how the devs hate us.

Its more of the positioning of things. Take darkness for example. Its at the bottom of the class tree. It isn’t as strong as warriors rallying cry that is only 9 talent points to obtain and is in a natural spot. There are a few other talents like that but the tree is poorly configured compared to most classes.

I got 2500+ IO and do not intend to push further but I do have fun in M+ because I do it with friends.

Some people love the mover style of play and some don’t. The issue is the drastic performance between the two. You can play non-mover but you won’t remotely touch what mover can do in terms of damage. If the gap between the two was smaller people wouldn’t care as much but the gap is too big not to care.

Not sure how long you’ve played a DH but DH has been in a poor spot for awhile. The fact a decent amount of people feel the way they do is their prerogative. If you don’t feel that way then why bother posting in the thread about it?

Fair enough.

Since it was added to the game.

Playing the PTR right now.

The changes to CoH are great. Lining up burst is much easier and its no longer punishing if you have to leave the target which is great for no mover builds.

Replacing AMN with Screaming Brutality also feels great for Fel Reaver and opens up an extra talent for FS.

Real no mover builds are equal with mover builds on sims right now. Will reflect in real world now that time on target issues have been dealt with and FR gets a free glaive+.

Now its left up to tuning. Why so mad?

There are no sims, buddy.

Also, half the talents are bugged, the new Cycle is still bad (a lot of sync issues, which is one of the reasons previous CoH wasn’t liked), Fel Scarred is dead, Aldrachi reaver is still miserable to play and none of the 15~ points of feedback have been addressed.

  • The damage loss from AMN has not been compensated yet
  • Minor bugs and errors plaguing the class, such as FelBlade not always repositioning you after VR
  • No measures have been taken against other problems such as overload from micro damage windows

and I’m sure there’s something I’m forgetting.

Just so you know, SB is bugged when you also have furious throws. It will charge you the BD cost + 25 fury but if you happen to not have enough energy, it works as intended. And seeing you brought AR up, how about the fact Wounded Quarry is only being triggered by auto attacks and it’s damage is not correctly marked as chaos, thus no mastery damage bonus. So it does crap for damage…

And without AMN FS’s biggest damage dealers (Burning Blades and Demonsurge) will no longer be converted into chaos damage. Meaning they also lose out on the master damage amp and the 11% damage increase AMN currently provides. Not to mention Demonsurge getting a soft target cap on it’s damage will have a impact upon their mythic+ viablity.

The lose of AMN is pretty big, even the developer stated as much, yet a month later and we have no news upon how they intend to address this.

I want to start this by saying I want big dps, top meter DMG as much as anyone else but the lack of that is not what makes me sad with dh.

What’s make me think about giving up on the class is the lack of “news”/changes it has.

Both the HT don’t change absolutely anything in the combat visual, just some glowing icons…

One of the HT was completely trash for an entire season and we had ZERO effort to change that. (I bet they will do the same in S2 but with fel this time)

Most of the time you have to run the exact same build to be “competitive” in mythic and high m+. I started a paladin alt and it’s so fun to make choices before a m+!!!

Basically we have many different points DH could improve, we are far from the perfect class, still we have almost no updates! Most of the time I don’t even check the patch notes because NOTHING changes for us. So many classes getting changes, even some bad ones, but it shows they are trying different things, there is effort!! An entire new season and we got 3-5 changes overall? The biggest one a nerf, that people want us to “wait for the adjustment”, we’ve being waiting since TWW beta…

I just want someone to make an effort on the development of this class, that’s it, I want to open patch notes and be excited for future patches.

fixed that for you.

yes plz

I play nearly every class. This is just the character the forums randomly selected for me

Not saying Im not passionate about the class, but its been a clean month or so since the DH Dev has had any kind of communication with us and has ghosted us since, Im calling it now, our changes will finally come in and we’ll have all of 7 days to test it before it goes live, find out that it needs more work, and then have to wait an ENTIRE patch cycle to make it happen or it gets skirted off into the Midnight expansion.

Sometimes I get sick of this dev. its a gruesome cycle Demon Hunter faces every expansion, were last to get announced changes, we have very little time to test, were the last to get our set bonus, were the last to get talent changes or bug fixes, and this mainly stemming from the one dev that we rely on to provide us with a update at some point, no were not demanding he talks to us every waking minute, but god dang, at least once a week would be enough

My primary issue isn’t about M+ or Raid viability. And more the fact that it has the most useless defensives in the game and the worst mobility for a class designed on mobility. Get slowed? Sure you can VR. Snared? You’re dead. Stunned? Dead. Disorientated? Dead. Darkness being a 5 minute CD for something that barely does anything is a joke. Not to mention Netherwalk doesn’t stop you from being CC’d no matter how minor.

You can do well in pvp as a DH but the amount of effort and support you need to do so is insane. You might as well play anything else. The fact most DH PvPers are just throwing away Vers to get more haste/mastery is telling. Why bother going for your damage mitigation stat if you’re going to die in nanoseconds anyways?

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when people say that the DH is a mobile class, in PVE for sure, but there is no way to consider it mobile when a well-coordinated team can practically leave you out of the game stuck in one place. I just stopped trying after an arena against a druid and a mage.

This… mostly this lol. It’s so true :face_exhaling:

It’s sad when a DK, the historically slow but hard to pin down class, is more mobile than DH. Hell, Paladins are more mobile.

yeah my gear is split on haste/vers. it feels very bad to play in pvp without haste, but even with maxing out vers you go splat faster than seemingly any other class, so it almost seems pointless. no clue why we have to make these tough choices when most other classes do not.

I’m sorry… no I most definitely feel more mobile than them  I think it’s our lack of a root breaker that feels bad at times.

Yea, if a root dr existed it wouldn’t feel so bad

PTR updated with DH “buffs” aka damage boosts to some skills that are more strongly affected by the lack of AMN. With no changes to survivability and ultimately a dps loss. I look forward to playing a class that no longer has the insane burst damage it once had AND zero survivability. Thanks blizz!
