Don't use Heroic Dungeon Finder if you're playing Solo

Since MoP Classic launched, I’ve been kicked from dungeons at least five times under extremely frustrating circumstances. Every time it’s the same pattern: I get into a group with 3–4 people from another guild, we clear most of the dungeon, and then right before the boss I queued for (usually the one I need loot from), they vote-kick me for no valid reason.

Not only do I lose the chance at loot, but I’m also slapped with a 30-minute Deserter debuff for something completely out of my control. As someone who’s returning to WoW to enjoy the nostalgia and experience of the game, this kind of behavior is incredibly discouraging.

At this point, it feels like solo queuing is too risky unless I bring 3 friends with me—just to avoid coordinated kicks. That’s not how the dungeon finder is supposed to work.

Unless you’re running with friends, don’t even bother trying to solo queue dungeons for your pre-BiS—it’s just not worth the time or frustration right now. The vote-to-kick system is being abused, and unless Blizzard steps in to make changes or hold these groups accountable, solo players are just going to keep getting screwed over.

Blizzard needs to take this seriously and start penalizing repeated, coordinated kicks. A 2-week suspension for abusers would be a fair consequence and send a clear message that this kind of behavior won’t be tolerated.

If anyone else has been experiencing this, please speak up. This needs to be addressed before it starts pushing more people away.

If you were kicked 5 times, maybe we’re not getting the whole story here.

If there are 2 ppl who are likely to roll on the same item, the guild group will initiate a vote kick to remove you. Ie, did SM up to the last boss, no issues, full speed run mode, after last trash pull i got removed. Every time it happened it was about the same.

Have yet to be kicked from a dungeon.

It’s possible that among the (however many people are queuing heroics on US servers), there are outliers.

I’m aware that kick abuse does happen, but 5 times? You’d almost assume there’s another reason at play here.

I’ve done plenty of solo runs and haven’t been kicked once. Even caused a couple of wipes here and there with some overzealous pulls and unfortunately timed stuns from enemies, and people usually just dust themselves off with a “lol” and move on

A group can kick someone for any reason they see fit, as Blizzard said when the dungeon finder was first introduced.
Get over it.

probably one of those warlocks who needs on spirit gear because it has intellect.

Oh yeah, that’s a very reasonable assumption. I’m just saying that when you have hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, or even far more, the outlier circumstances (like the 0.01% of people who happen to have random bad luck 5 times in a row) become more statistically likely, and it is possible that someone with such luck would decide to come to the forums to post about it.

I haven’t gotten kicked from a dungeon ever.

I mean so far ive had a healer ignore me after a dungeon but never been kicked yet…but i stopped doing heroics solo since my tanking style makes most healers hate me xd

I like the “IT HASN’T HAPPENED TO ME, SO ITS A YOU PROBLEM” posts because it clearly shows that people are actually doing so. lol

Contrary to what many are posting here, this happens a lot more frequently than you might think. It’s the reason why I generally won’t spam queue dungeons unless I have at least two others with me to give kick immunity. There are loads of guild groups that will just group up and kick someone that would be competing on their “BiS” piece that drops at the end of a run and it’s pretty scummy.

I don’t really see a whole lot that can be done outside of flagging people/accounts that have kicked too many times recently to avoid abusing the system like suggested in the OP, but that would require Blizzard to hire, not fire more employees lol.

I can see it. Imagine you need one thing from a dungeon and its one of the last gear pieces you need. You cant queue for the same heroic specifically more than once, queue times arent allways short and so most of the time you will be queueing for a random heroic. You have to pray you get the dungeon you need and then pray the boss drops what you need and that no one else needs it.

Do you wanna run Temple of the White tiger for the 10th time from the random group finder just to potentially lose what you need to someone else or are you gonna try to just guild run it and yoink what you need by any means to avoid potentially very long grind? Its not difficult to see why some people would choose the latter. I wont defend it though, its a super crappy tactic, even if i understand why its being done i still dont like it.

A lot of loser mentality in this community, If It’s a feature blizzard put in, It’s not against ToS, This early in an expansion…It’s happened back then too, of course it’s going to happen again now. I do like the replies by people here. “It doesn’t happen to me so obviously, you’re a liar.” snort

I was in a group yesterday with 4 guild members that needed on every green and blue in BC dungeons for “mog”.

I agree. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, but 5 times or more? Folks that say that may need re-evaluate some things on their end. I’m also not saying it’s strictly the kickees fault 100%, but just from the amount of times it’s strange.

I can see getting into a group and getting removed to avoid a gear clash though. It would suck to get kicked at the end of the dungeon. I try to avoid solo queuing (spell check) myself and only would want to go with guild groups. I hate the pug life, it’s unpredictable and people can be very nasty, but at the same time there are good ones out there too.
