If you’re not interested in playing Classic, why are you playing Classic?
You can do all the content that Classic provides in retail without us “Scrubs” slowing you down.
I think a lot of people may be concerned that if they are rushing through patch releases then that could lead to releasing something like TBC early as well, which would mean the end of “Classic”.
EQ does this when they run their progression servers and it’s impossible for casual players to keep up with it - it’s just not even worth playing.
That’s a really dumb comparison.
It’s expected to get gear from PVE.
PVP is exactly that, PVP.
If you need a reward to PVP, you don’t like PVP, you like gear.
BGs aren’t in until P3.
P2 is just the honor system aka something you won’t make much use of on your carebear server.
Everybody likes gear and plays the game to get it because MMORPG’s at their core are a gear-driven game. People don’t play the game just to play the game… unless they simply like to gank people and call that PVP.
Cool… I hear Dire Maul goes in with P2. Don’t be shocked if BG’s and the honor system are gift wrapped into phase 2 for the 15th anniv.
Vanilla WoW had zero rewards for PVP until 1.4(aka about 6 months after release).
aka People participated in PVP for fun.
If gear is your only reason for playing Classic, you’re playing the wrong game.
The itemization is horrible unless you’re a prot Warrior, healer, or a Pure DPS class. There’s a reason that the warrior DPS BiS lists have leather on them, and it ain’t because leather is optimal.
Slippery slope proven fellas.
We already have someone saying “Well they dropped Dire Maul early, give us BGs early!”
I don’t give two s***s what Vanilla had(and played it when current). We’re talking Classic and it makes no sense to add Honor without BG’s. None.
Vanilla had a lot of things that hadn’t been invented yet where people participated ‘for fun’.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ok then… make sure you don’t buy any PVP gear once it goes in, or you’re spewing bs.
Its a gear-progression game. If you don’t agree… start a level 1 and don’t loot anything. See how far you get, sport. Everyone plays to get better gear, or the only thing they are good at is lying to themselves.
It honestly makes no sense to put in the Honor System without the BGs that drive it. This is fine when BGs didn’t exist and PVP was still being invented, but one feeds the other.
I would argue that it’s the opposite. If you want a game where whiny, impatient people get everything they want handed to them, go play retail. The people who don’t want it rushed are merely wanting status quo (#nochanges).
It’s the go go go zoomers who are demanding that things be sped up because they lack patience and discipline and have the attention spans of gnats.
Why is the time between the release of the raids the most important status quo to you? Why is the days or months between content being identical to the Vanilla release so important?
I’d argue the current progression of players is a more important criteria when deciding content releases, and the current progression of players now is far beyond what it was when BWL released in Vanilla.
You insinuated that those wanting status quo were like retail babies. I think, no, it’s the other way around. Impatient people demanding that content be fastracked remind me of those wanting LFD/LDR and ports to instances back in the day so they could put groups together fast and blow through all the content and get their purples quicker. The common thread is impatience.
It is for some players. Nobody but Blizzard knows how many.
What does it matter. I have never understood the phase thing because either now or latter it will all be released and that is it. So just release it all now, gear and power are irrelevant, because the game has already been done.
Obviously … but they did say they are considering it and a lot of people seem to want it. So it’s probably going to eventually happen. I was just saying that getting to that point is probably a concern for people who feel like patches are coming out quickly.
The phases will come out in accordance with the schedule, they aren’t going to rush anything. You could argue that dire maul was “rushed” but with the current 1.12 itemization… dire maul being out is completely irrelevant outside of a few pieces of BiS (mostly for healers).
As for TBC yeah I’m sure they will release it eventually but at the same time I don’t think it will be until we’ll after phase 6. At the same time… who cares… you can play classic with less than 400 players on a server.
