because i dont want their crybaby bullshet ruining the only game i have to enjoy atm
You are the only crybaby here.
Even if you want it to be all about you, it should be about whatās good for the game.
How do you define Vanilla like?
There are definitely some things that are quite Vanilla like, and some things that simply are not. One major thing that will never be Vanilla like, and I think it would be incredibly difficult to make an argument that it wasnāt expected to be different is time.
Itās a completely different time. People are different, experiences are different. Also, in Vanilla, unlike Classic, nobody had 15 years worth of practice with WoW.
I tend to feel that a lot of people really mean āPrivate Serversā when they say Vanilla, and Vanilla like, but those people are overlooking some pretty significant differences between Vanilla and Private Servers.
Here are some:
Private servers used the same client as Vanilla. But, all of the skills, NPC behavior, item data, etc., etc., etc. was not available through the client. It had to be created. Thousands upon thousands of lines of code (10s of thousands of hours of work, by all sorts of software developers at all sorts of levels, over years and years) were created for private servers. The probability of any of that being very similar to Vanilla is quite low.
Also, private servers developed features and other things, such as faction specific queues, etc.
Classic is not a private server, and is not based on private server code. Actually, one major point of differentiation is that the reference client for Classic unlike any private server, actually has access to Vanilla server-side data, and code.
Another difference, is that the Classic client is not the Vanilla client, but rather a modified, modern Retail client.
These are things we knew coming into Classic.
Anyway, again, what precisely do you mean when you say, āVanilla like?ā
Iām just talking from a pvp balance standpoint, the launch servers in vanilla werenāt sitting on such horrid imbalance.
Do we have such horrid imbalance? How is that defined?
If there are an abundance of people who rolled on PVP servers, but refuse to PVP, and instead have just inflated the number for their faction, then they certainly did a disservice to the game and community.
Now, they are asking for free server changes. Because that is āgoodā and āreasonableā
Please correct my misinformed viewpoint.
Itās defined that, as we knew right from launch, there is far more horde across pvp servers than alliance.
There is still more horde across pvp servers than alliance.
Oh we knew?
anyone who read the censusās did, so yea āweā knew, but not everyone.
Everyone who bothered to look knew Alliance was in for a rough time.
Super simple solution though, play another character or reroll? I honestly donāt see the big deal. Although, eventually people will grow tired of sitting at flight paths once the hype dies down, or once BGās come out. Maybe go outside until then?
For one thing, unless you go to pve, thereās very few places to go.
But youāre basically saying āyea, you paid for this month, but donāt play itā
I think you are relying a lot on your anecdotal memory of things.
Iām on Faerlina horde - I get ganked plenty by alliance. It depends on a few things including time of day, level of opponent, etc.
Your memory of AQ is also a little bit biased. By the time AQ rolls around, bgs are in place, the grind to rank 14 is over for a lot of folks, there is more than 1 raid in the game so less of a āchoke pointā, Silithus is a 60 zone with repeatable content such that camping the town is less āmetaā.
The list goes on and on.
I just think itās too early to tell.
If I were Blizzard I would just release BGs sooner than later. That will alleviate quite a bit of stress I feel. BWL wonāt help much since that still means blackrock mountain is still the near sole choke-point for end game (BRD, LBRS, UBRS, MC, BWL).
Youāre forgetting the AQ event was a HUGE wpvp battle, iām not talking about the raid itself, but the period of time before.
Agree here though.
so the answer is dont play the game. fantastic, that solves the āhow can we play the gameā concern.
I also remember it swinging wildly by time of day. Little to no incentive to participate due to being undergeared and having more effective alternatives for Honor/HK.
Even on any given time - it went back and forth just like Hillsbrad Foothills currently does.
Even a server that is 60/40 is arguably ābalancedā.
It is unlikely you will have 100% representation from either faction present in any location at any given time. The server wouldnāt handle it.
It depends on a ton of things, time of day, day of week, guild raid schedules, zone, etc., etc.
Iām on the āhorde dominantā (allegedly) Faerlina - and Iāve flown into an entire raidās worth of folks in Thorium Point and died instantly. Iāve similarly run into Blackrock Mountain and been facerolled by a guild getting ready to run MC.
Iāve also flown into/run into both 10-15 minutes later and both are completely empty.
Faerlina has better balance than many servers, itās horde dominant yes, but not nearly to the level of Stalagg or Skeram, or many others.
Maybe it was just my server because we were going for world first AQ gates (arguably still āgot itā because the world first was a pve server that didnāt have the massive pvp brawls we did), but 24 hrs a day war was raging in silithus
BSā¦ Iāve seen people warning the camp was on for monthsā¦ no excuse.
What would you do with your life if people were not crying on the forums? You seem to live for the complaints so you can respond talking crap.
I love you for sticking up for us.
I love world pvp but actual fun pvp and not fun griefing are not the same. I tried to get to BRD last night. I am on Herod which is very heavily horde favored and I have no problem with that. The problem is if I fly to Thorium Point or Morganās Vigil I am instantly attacked by a group of level 60 players. After I manage to get past them I have another group camping the entrances to Blackrock Mountain. Then there is a group camping the entrance to Molten Core. Then another group camping the entrance for BRD. It took over an hour for our group to get from Ironforge to BRD. Shortly into our run (about an hour not counting the hour it took just to get in) someone had to leave. After about 20 minutes we found a replacement not many people wanted to run the gauntlet or think we would be able to summon them. Luckily we had a warlock and after a few minutes of checking zone in we were able to get a quick summon to replace that person. So now we are 2.5 hours in and barely got anything done.
The whole process is exhausting and frustrating. I love the danger of world pvp and will continue to play. I will gladly fight anytime it arises. But as I said this is not world pvp this is just large groups of people being jerks. I am only 53. I have no chance against 5+ level 60 characters. So trying to get past 150 of them just sucks.
Please tell the other Horde to stop camping the flight masters especially the ones at Thorium Point and Morganās Vigil and that would be a start. Lots of us want to fight but getting killed as soon as you land by a large group of Horde and then corpse camped keeps people from even trying to organize a fight.
implying not giving into crybaby bs isnt whats good for the game. crybaby bs destroyed every other game. go play mobile games or something if you dont like whats in front of you
