Your character gets one equipment slot that affects all of it’s mounts, not each mount gets a slot. And the strider’s innate ability will be removed.

Edited my previous post. The water strider is currently not anti-daze… its water walking ability is not being taken away, its just simply taking up the equipment slot. Its still doing what its supposed to be doing as intended.

Because they took away an ability to give it back in a piss poor manner.

No we can’t. Because it means we sacrifice the base ability of a mount if we want to use any other mount equipment.

There’s been no official word regarding the current bardings, but since one of the new mount equipment items is a barding that prevents being dazed, I anticipate that the current bardings will be disabled or made unusable in some way. Since each character can only equip one mount equipment item at a time for all mounts, if that’s the case, it’ll be an either or situation - either water walking or anti-daze bardings but not both.

It is when i use a Barding with it. Now I don’t have the choice, it’s either one or the other.

So having one mount dominate all other mounts by having multiple abilities is okay, but people complain non-stop that a certain class/spec is OP… thats not okay?

Do you mean strider water walking will be removed? It should have been the perk for people who grinded the strider to get water walking from the strider and be able to use anti daze barding

Why are we comparing apples to shoes?

A mount’s base ability is being taken off of it. That has zero comparison to whatever complaint you have about top DPS classes.

They should. Why do i have to ride around on those ugly mounts just to repair. I shouild be able to use every mount to pick herbs with out dismounting, repair, transmog and use auction house.

Do you mean strider water walking will be removed? It should have been the perk for people who grinded the strider to get water walking from the strider and be able to use anti daze barding

That’s not what I mean in the section of my post that you quoted, but yes, water walking is being removed from the water strider. To get it back, you’ll have to use the new mount equipment item that allows all of your mounts on that character to water walk. Only one mount equipment item can be used at a time so if you’re using water walking, you won’t be able to use the new anti-dazing item. You may still be able to use the current leather worker crafted bardings; Blizzard hasn’t clarified.

Its not coming off of it- equip your free pair of shoes and voila, you have water walking as intended.

They are adding an ability to all other mounts, as they should! Everyone in BFA is using the damn water strider mount, up to the point where its almost mandatory if you are leveling or doing WQ’s.

It’s not hard to under stand, i know i will still be able to walk on water on any mount, It’s the fact that if i choose water walking i will be dazed and dismounted on land every time you run thru mobs.

If your strider is hit while over water it stops being water walking and you’re effectively dazed either way, so having barding does little in your situation.

You have a twisted view of “as intended.” Because if I want to use any other mount equipment, my water strider no longer has water walking-- the ability it has always had.

No they aren’t. Maybe a lot of people. But not everyone. None if my guildies on one of my servers has it.

No it’s not. People can easily get places without it. A choice is not “almost mandatory.”

Right now, any toon I have that can ride has water walking with the strider. Going forward, I would have to buy a piece of equipment to allow this. That’s annoying.

I’d say i’d Just go back to my old way of doing things like before I got the strider a year ago. Have all toons carry potions of WW, but why to I get the feeling those will be useless soon. Time will tell I guess.

Welp- you have a “choice” to equip the water shoes or not…

And no worries- if you choose equipment other than the shoes then you can still “easily get places without it”.
