Classic has no LFG. It has no “improvements”. That’s literally the ‘community’ type server you’re talking about.
Participation trophy. Let’s throw skill out the window and let everybody win.
That’s not good or compelling game design.
So that Blizzard isn’t wasting their time making a raid for 1-30% of the population (depending on what difficulty/tier we’re talking about).
Without LFR Blizzard would’ve stopped making raids a long time ago.
you people have to be completely insane or so out of touch with reality if you think that’s how it is
sometimes the ideas GD gets scares me
The avenues to real raiding are much better today than it was back in vanilla or BC. LFG is an amazing tool.
Well almost no one does listen to the anti-lfr crowd.
Their intentions are plain as day. They have no grounds to actually advocate to remove LFR on, they’ve all been debunked, and are mostly just selfish self interests.
Only people that take Anti-LFR people seriously, are the other Anti-LFR people. They are just loud and troll alot.
I wouldn’t call it elitist so much as people with severe dominance issues.
I think people more likely have severe victim issues when I see stuff like this
Yeah that’s true, an automated queue system is the safe haven from toxicity
I have seen nice and toxic players in both LFR, and other difficulties of raids. I have seen both nice and toxic players in both Retail and Classic. Everyone will have different experiences, and everyone will have either a worse, or better time in one way or another.
The point I am trying to make, is that there are both nice and toxic players everywhere, just that sometimes you may find more of one than the other.
That people won’t use. LFG still has the social hustle of trying to recruit more people to join. LFR is fully automated. People like LFR specifically because there is no social aspect.
Surprise surprise, people don’t actually want to socialize to raid. Those that do can continue doing so. Taking away LFR just takes away raid content from people that don’t want to socialize, don’t want to put the effort in, don’t want to feel obligated to the other members but still want to see/do the content. You won’t encourage people to do LFG by taking away LFR, you’ll just encourage people to not do raiding at all, drastically reducing the raiding population by 40% and making raids not cost effective to continue.
You should be thanking LFR for convincing Blizz to continue making raids.
It’s a 15 y/o game, and if people have to resort to playing there instead then something’s majorly wrong with the modern version.
Surely it’s not difficult to make servers with things like LFR/LFG disabled as an experiment.
Spot on.
Okay lets clear this up, a lot of people have played for almost 15 years and seen every single system that this game has had to offer
We end up with long term players that saw the glory that was WoW from the classic through to WotLK, all of which did not have LFR, then the decent into modern WoW, all of which don’t have LFR
and you wonder why some people think LFR maybe didn’t belong in the game, is it that bigger stretch?
They can justify designing mythic raid content for a minority because that same content is then toned down and seen by players on other difficulties. LFR helps them justify designing raids by allowing the devs to say “X% of players do this content”; it doesn’t matter what difficulty they do it on, what matters is they see the raid.
It says a lot when I am relived to see this dead horse coming up instead of the dumpster fire that’s filling the forums at the moment.
It’s not victim-hood to declare to a group of people. NO I dealt with your junk before and I refuse to repeat it!
But the thing is, some can’t seem to process the word NO.
Sorry if you don’t like LFR, don’t do it.
I won’t be thankful for a skill less system that encourages and rewards bad habits. FromSoftware had it right when they refused to put in an easy mode for Sekiro.
Sure it help justify, but no you can’t claim that they would stop existing if they remove LFR. There’s no proof to that.
And even if the content looks the same, it’s still way different. They still take more time designing/balancing mythic encounters.
don’t even bother, you’re just going to be an elitist gate keeper
