No, what you’re trying to do is add shock value to your argument so people will try and give you sympathy for it. It’s not the same and will never be the same as the struggles gay people go through still. It’s very distasteful.
To be clear. You’re equating you not getting over something that happened in 2006, and people pushing back for 6 months in a game (emphasis for a reason)… to real life, human rights issues…
I would say something about this good 'ol disingenous argument point but… honestly, it pales in comparison to the fact that you’re doubling down.
Speaking as a member of that minority? I’m going off of my own experiences, people telling me because of my sexuality I can or cannot have this or that. I come to games like WoW to escape that nonsense. I find it creepy to find a similar attitude here.
As I said, it’s not the same thing as fighting for rights. All I’ve said is the mentality is creepy. “No, you can’t have this, because I said so.”
I mean, if you want to look like Nathanos as a forsaken, why not? Technically the forsaken should be able to use like all race models since that’s what they’re made of, not just humans.
Always the same argument here. Just give all the races MORE display options. Then YOU can play what YOU want, and not worry about what other people are doing, instead of posting a billion times in these threads trying to dictate what other people should enjoy via the absolute joke argument that is “lore” in this game anymore.
Because that’s not who Forsaken are. They are they own thing, they have their own identity, both lore wise and aesthetic wise.
See where I’m going with this?
A very privileged member if you’re equating the LGBTQ+ fight for civil rights with the HE community wanting HE options on their Alliance Void Elves.
Did I?
I stated why the mentality creeps me out. I never said, “This reminds me of fighting for equal rights as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.” Seems a lot of people are really intent to put words into my mouth.
I hope you’re not seriously trying to compare the LGBTQ Community to… High Elf fans.
He did, and he’s still doubling, no, tripling? down (Is that even a word?)
I won’t get into the debate of whether or not there’s a “logical” reason, but there is a “legitimate” reason and it’s not “Because I said so!”.
That reason is simply that it makes some Horde players feel bad to see, what they consider a carbon copy, of their most popular/populous race, on the Alliance. It’s especially upsetting to some Blood Elf players after the objectively lackluster customization pass they got compared to some other core races.
Will that stop Blizzard from giving Void Elves more “High Elf Customization Options”? Only time will tell.
All I can say is Oof.
Why use the LGBTQ+ struggle for rights at all then?
If you weren’t using yourself and the HE community in this analogy who was the analogy about?
Personal experience? I could’ve said it was as creepy as people who feel the need to control a woman’s body, but as I’m not a woman, I haven’t had experience with that sort of crowd.
Kind of… Are you saying you’re against additional options that could reflect a recently deceased person instead of one that’s been decomposing for a while? That’s pretty much Nathanos, showing little if any decomposition.
So you’re comparing opposition against HEs to people who stand in the way of LGBTQ+ rights or people who control others?
I’m not against it but the method from how it was produced is really hard to justify en masse now without being low effort lore wise.
I’m stating the mentality creeps me out.
I don’t doubt there are people against High Elf options for Void Elves who vehemently support LGBTQ+ rights. I’m positive there are LGBTQ+ individuals in that crowd as well.
Not sure if this matters.
As a member of that minority myself I’d never do this.
To throw the trials of folk who’ve had to fight hard for life and right into an argument about pixelated elves seems immensely disrespectful.
For most of them that’s not the mentality.
Try listening to them for once.
I don’t think comparing opposing voices on the HE topic to people who oppose LGBTQ individuals or other minorities is anything other than insulting tbh.
