Don't forget Allied Races in 9.1

Were people supposed to just roll over and change their own requests for the game to favor the HE community in the last 6 months?

People are requesting the last distinction of the Blood Elf visual theme remain intact which is in contradiction of asking to continue to allow VEs to replicate BEs, so of course there is a debate.

Is there a problem with me customizing my character how I want to?

Don’t know why you’re so upset, the only thing exclusive to Blood Elves from Void Elves and High Elves was green/gold eyes and I don’t think I’ve seen anyone asking for that for Void Elves.

I’ll be honest, it’s a little… creepy, sometimes, how obsessive some players are with controlling how another player can customize their character.

“Is there a problem with me wanting to look like a Horde race?”

It’s only creepy to you because you’re getting what you want, after years demanding options from a race you could have played but wasn’t on your preferred faction. It’s creepy to demand things from others you don’t have.

I like how you included Void Elves and High Elves as the parallel to Blood Elves as if Blood Elves aren’t High Elves and haven’t held the theme of generic Elf in that regard.

At best it’s a secondary theme, that should not infringe further on the main theme of BEs where it’s their main and only theme.

Never said it was.

But it wouldn’t be much different than me asking for Nathanos-like options for Forsaken because I like Forsaken but I don’t like them that much and I simply don’t want to play the already available option.

It’s basically playing a Horde race with extra steps.

I certainly hope that they say something in regards to this subject.

Are you really going to tell me why something is creepy to me? Do you rally think you have that kind of insight to my thought process?

It’s creepy to me because it reminds me rather forcibly of people who are against Gays being allowed to get married. Doesn’t hurt them, or affect them in any way, and yet they are determined to believe they have the right to determine what someone else can or cannot have. They get offended, but the entirety of the offense is their own creation.

Well, I’m mostly going off of the one Developer interview which most made the distinction, that High Elves hadn’t really been represented as a playable race, but Blood Elves were closest, and how customizations for both Blood Elves and Void Elves were being added to make that more possible.

Question.

Is it creepy that people has not been able to let go of something that happened back in 2006?

I don’t understand how people have been upset about a lack of HEs on the Alliance for 10+ years.

But the same HE community is flabbergasted the last 6 months hasn’t killed opposition voices which are trying to uphold the last of the BE visual theme.

I don’t know. Is it creepy gays have had to struggle for equal rights and freedoms for far longer than that? Or any marginalized community for that matter.

The matter of rights and freedoms is far and away a far more serious matter than something like customization options for a video game character. What creeps me out is how some posters against it approach the topic with the same kind vocabulary as groups against them. Its like it’s a power thing, lording something over others, taking enjoyment out of someone else being unable to have something so simple and harmless.

I’m not sure why you keep equating this to gay rights. I am gay myself but I have literally never inserted real world scenarios to an argument about video game aesthetics.

The HE community isn’t a marginalized minority community fighting for equal rights.

While it’s not 100% perfect, and it costs you the damage benefit, you can make a macro for one of your spammed abilities (Fireball/Frostbolt/Arcane Blast for example) that cancels the Entropic Embrace effect so you don’t turn purple.

Here’s an example:

#showtooltip Arcane Blast
/cancelaura Entropic Embrace
/cast [nochanneling:Arcane Missiles] Arcane Blast

(the no channeling part prevents you from accidentally clipping missiles with AB spam)

You can apply this type of macro to as many abilities as you have free macro slots if you really want make sure you don’t see Entropic Embrace. Just be sure you realize you’re going to lose the damage bonus it provides, but for those who take their RP super seriously, that shouldn’t be a big deal.

Holy C’thulu dude. Are you that lacking in arguments to support your obvious double standards that you have to resort to this?

This is the biggest reach I’ve seen since that one scene with Michael Jordan in Space Jam.

I was expecting a flimsy justification for the double standards… instead, I got the biggest reach in the history of mankind.

I’m explaining the mentality, and why it creeps me out. Void Elves being able to look like High Elves does absolutely no harm to anyone. There isn’t a logical reason to deny them that customization that doesn’t end up a, “Because I said so!”

I think everyone has their right to an opinion, but sometimes the nature of the argument is disturbing to me in a way that I’ve seen before.

High elves are on the Alliance too. They’re not just a horde race.

I think its really off putting that you’re trying to compare pixel elves to a real life issue faced by a minority that has had to struggle for actual rights to exist.

You should really be ashamed.
