Remember when one of the cool new customization features was for everyone to get DK-only hair colors? Yeeeaaaah, Blizz “forgot” Tauren don’t even have separate hair colors. But hey, my BElf mage has blue hair, so who cares emirite?
It’s 2021 and Blizz can’t think beyond the most basic, bland, vanilla customizations. LOOK WE HAVE HUMANS AND POINTY EARED MORE SVELTE HUMANS!1!!! Wowee! /flex
Making the same color with a different pattern count as a unique choice is just a way to fluff the numbers. Instead of 4 colors with 3 patterns, you have 12 skin colors!!doubledigits!! The same goes for the new hairstyles. The flower hairstyles are literally just the non-flower braid styles but with some goldclover tacked on. It should have been like the NElf vine option, but instead of 3 hairstyles with 1 modifier you have SIX NEW HAIRSTYLES!!!
Meanwhile, wooo, still rockin only 4 face choices since 2004.
You should watch it again. It’s really enjoyable and a good pick-me-up if you’re needing one.

I made a comprehensive list of changes for allied and standard races for future content patches, comment and contribute there if you’d like!

I actually went and counted each and every customization options for every allied race. Minus the simple yes or no options (such as haunch for male orcs and earings for Highmountain), these are the results:
Lightforged:
Male: 47
Female: 42
Total: 89
Dark Iron Dwarves:
Males: 47
Females: 44
Total: 91
Kultirans:
Males: 54
Female: 55
Total: 109
Mechagnome:
Males: 72
Females: 68
Total: 140
Highmountain:
Males: 33
Females: 32
Total: 65
Mag’har:
Males: 68
Females: 61
Total: 129
Zandalari:
Males: 57
Females: 49
Total: 106
Vulpera:
Males: 47
Females: 49
Total: 96
Nightborne:
Males: 33
Female: 34
Total: 67
Void Elves:
Males: 75
Females: 70
Total: 145
So yes, objectively, it is true. The only ones even coming close are Mechagnomes, and Nightborne and Highmountain have abysmal amount of options. Vulpera ain’t doing too hot either, same with Lightforged.

I think the last year or two ago I watched the special with Beerus with it. Thanks, I’ll have to get back into it. Watched it all originally except at GT
Even learned drawing characters when I started watching the series.
Not gonna lie, it’s times like when I decide to count the options for each AR, when I question my life choices

I’ll admit that this is the first time I went and actually counted them, I just knew that, at least visually, it looked like they had the most (and that HM are in a position that is almost as bad as baseline tauren), the only difference is that now I have factual proof of this.
But you know what? Now I want to go count the BE options. I expect them to have more but… I fear the gap is not that big…

TOTAL MALES: 92
Females:
Skin Color: 14

Ears: 3
Earrings: 14
Necklace: 4
Armbands: 4

A gap of 62 with the original… yeah, not sure how I feel about that.
The male customizations need to catch up with the female customizations, though.

I appreciate that you want other Allied Races to be prioritized over Void elves. And as can be seen, Void Elves are not at the top of my list. Nightborne are, follow by LFD and Vulpera.
And it is not only a matter of which Allied Race has the most customizations. It is also largely a matter of popularity and demand. I think we can agree that Void elves and Blood elves are very popular races. That’s why Blood elves have so much customization, and why Void elves have the most out of Allied Races, although they are much more popular than mechagnomes, who for some odd reason have 140+ customizations.
The only thing remaining to give Void elves is some hair customization. I don’t even care about the tattoos, I can get that removed from the list. But, like Nightborne, their hair styles and hair colors specifically have not received any new additions since Legion. To completely ignore that and proceed with, for example, prioritizing customization to Kul’tirans and mechagnomes or Dark Iron could be considered largely punishing considering how popular Void elves are and how many people are so hyped about them.
Like I said at the beginning, Void elves are not at the top of the list. But they should not be at the end of the list either just cause they got skins and eyes.

All the more reason to want to safeguard what little of Blood Elf uniqueness we have left, after sharing and sharing and sharing, especially given Horde hasn’t gotten the same treatment for Nightborne, I actually get why people like Lan feel so strongly about that now.

Void Elves got copy-pasted skin colours from their core race because they screwed up by not giving the Alliance what they asked for. Trying to dismiss customization requests because one race got a lazy copy-paste early is narcissistic.
This is right up there with worgen customization requests.
These two races are the only ones in the game where if you ask for literally anything, you have the same few people coming in crying telling people to… stop asking for customizations.
The only reason void elves have such a high number is because of the skins.
Would you people rather of had the high elf spam threads going multiple times a day still? No? Do you guys want people to continually ask for blonde hair still? No?
Then let us get this nipped in the bud so it stops.
Void elves asking for stuff doesn’t take away from Nightborne.

They still would, incessantly. You give a little piece of the pie and they’ll want the whole thing.

This is literally the biggest lie ever told, it wouldn’t stop there, I have read these threads and High Elfers say they want haircolors and hairstyles, but they often let it slip that then they will want Void Elf Paladins and so on and so on.
This would be a never ending cycle of wanting and wanting and wanting.
Nah. Eventually they will stop. Especially since there will be internal peer pressure from the Alliance itself to focus on Void elves, and not ask for a separate High elf race.
When people go on about High Elves since Blood Elves were added and we are the High Elves until now, I find that unlikely.
It is more than well established that Alliance players want a lot of what Horde has without actually playing Horde.

And according to their warped metrics of parity, once the other ARs inherit their core races skin tones the ARs will be complete if we’re being fair here.
The antis are the only reason this thread was derailed into another High Elf debate, everyone else was minding their own business, which does include asking for assets for Void Elves as per the threads actual topic, not divying up with the Blood Elves.

I think the requests will dissipate after some light hair colors are added. I actually did not even think about void elf customization until they gave us the skins. It just looks out of place to have light skin but not a single natural hair color to pair it.
