I’m pretty sure the amount of tokens sold today will give that line enough momentum to keep going up an entire week, even with no further tokens traded.
Upward momentum is caused by the current situation, where not enough tokens for demand. Demand will continue to increase, while supply will continue to fall, due to speculation that price will continue rising.
Unless blizzard intervenes somehow, I think the price increases will carry on for longer than a week. It will continue to skyrocket until people with real money like the conversion rate, and buy in. For the people trying to cash out gold, it’s a perfect storm that will absolutely devastate their gold reserves.
Prices on the AH in general seem to be tanking hard, people desperately selling everything they have to try and get the bruto before it’s gone. So people buying tokens to get enchants/play the game, will be set for MUCH longer after a single token. Instead of having to buy every say, month, a single token might keep them set for an entire quarter.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens to token prices next month. Certainly there will be a crash after the first wave has bought their newtosaur, but how low? Anyone interested in buying raid carries would be smart to do it in the next 2 months if not ASAP, before the first catastrophic price drop.
January 5th will also certainly have a price surge as the last minute cash-outs buy their mount. And then… ??? Season end will be coming soon after, will everyone already have their carries bought and token price remains permanently inflated to 400k? Or are carry buyers so unaware that they flood the market after the peak and utterly bottom out the price?

If they released a unique, $300 hat, you’d see a bunch of people rolling around with it whether or not they even thought it looked good. It’s just so they can flex that they’re bad with their money, because they are sorely lacking external validation from real life.

This would actually benefit 99.9% of players, but they don’t see it so they rage.
If they don’t pay, they don’t get max iLvl but they weren’t going to anyway, since the very highest content is designed so only the top .1% can complete it. So if they don’t pay it’s a neutral change.
If they do pay, they get the gear. And having it doesn’t hurt anyone except:
- Those selling carries
- The top .1%

The price is a bad joke, dont come crying here when stuff gets to high for the average player to afford, say whatever you want right now, we all know what the future is if this kind of stuff keeps happening.
