And some people struggle with longer load times than others too. Having the AH mount means less load screens, which in turn means you can do more content that rewards you (be it gear, mats, etc.)
I’m hoping I can farm gold to get it, if not I’ll be asking for it on xmas. Sure, there are more practical things i can ask for. However, i see many people buying diamonds and luxury name brand purses for their GF/wife, or a 500$ game system for their kids. A 90$ thing for me pales in comparison and would see loads of use personally.
Preferably I would rather they reenable the old brutasaur vendor.
Let me preface this by saying… I am absolutely serious and don’t care who thinks what of me because of it:
This game is 20 years old. No one save for a handful of older players would even agree with this. I only have time to dedicate to this game because I am a streamer. Not everyone can spend 40-60 hours a week playing WoW the way they did back in Classic/TBC/Wrath. Also, some of us are more flush with cash, than patience for a 20 year old Video Game. I spent 15 years farming Invincible, but will tell you without hesitation, I would have paid $90 for an off colored, reskinned, updated model while I kept farming.
That said, if Blizz EVER decides to put 15-20 year old mounts in the cash shop, and I don’t already have them, I will spend whatever that cost is, within reason to get it. In fact, I would love it if they took their scale of mount popularity and made it a Tier level purchase
T1 - Somewhat popular would be $39 each
T2 - Highly popular would be $49 each
T3 - Extremely popular and rare drops (Like Mim’s or Invincible) $59 each
These mounts are only special to the people who have them. Some weird sense of elitism that people are coveting their mount, rather than simply appreciating them, should not hold others back from having them. I was the first Druid in my guild to get the Raven Lord back in TBC when you needed a Druid to summon Anzu. I could care less if Anzu went into the store for $20. Everyone should enjoy the mount they want.
Shoutout to all the OG longboi owners who made a big fuss any time people brought up wanting it back, thanks to your efforts we can now purchase an even better version of the same mount for almost 4x less than you all paid for yours.
I agree with you OP BTW… but I also find you more annoying than Blizzard. So I’m hoping Carstine here buys one for them AND one for me, just to spite you.
Too late, bought it as soon as I saw it was available. I already have the original, but this one looks cooler, so had to have. Money is easy to make in real life, so it’s really nothing.
Ever since the fungibility of Gold to $$$ was officially introduced, this can be said for ever single shop item OR gold item in the game.
And we’ve have had that for a long, long time.
If you didn’t pay attention, as soon as the mount was announced, the token gold price skyrocketed. This mount is well within reach of far, far more players than the original one ever was.
The most egregious thing they’re doing it time limiting it again.
So is using the future, we don’t know that either.
And this mount is far less aggressive than the original was, or even the cosmetic spider mount.
We all knew that when this mount showed up again how controversial it would be, no matter what they did.
It’s also better than the last one because its both mail and AH.
Like I said, the biggest issue with this mount is the time frame, but I guess they’re doing that with several things lightly being tied to the anniversary.
Oh, I am so much more than that. I’ve spent almost $40k on this game in 19 years. My salary has little to do with my hobby. Some people have “recreational intake” hobbies, others have bar tabs, some even have cars, boats, or mancaves with “projectile launching devices” used at a range under supervision. Me? I have WoW. So whenever something new pops up for cash… I snag it.
I don’t want it.
But, I also don’t care what people do with their own money.
If they want to pay cash for a traveling auction house who cares?
I’ll just save the money for something else and go to the auction the old fashioned way.
I just hope they don’t park them on top of the mailboxes.
People who normally would have sold the token, have noticed the state of affairs, and stopped posting. If you buy a token for 20 dollars, why sell now, when you could sell tomorrow for double the price?
If enough people catch onto that, there might be no real recovery for the token market, especially the closer we get to 30 days in the future when a majority of free to play people will be desperately trying to get a token to renew their account.
