Don't bully the Council - allow them to do their things

I wouldn’t strap on the tinfoil hat too hard, But i sure don’t believe they represent the community with good intentions for everyone.

hmm… I don’t really see why it matters. I’m not on the council, my ideas, worries and suggestions don’t have any value, and there’s do. If the only thing I can do is criticize their threads, then why (hypothetically) wouldn’t I?

Shaming them is bad, criticizing their ideas is good.

I was just reading a thread of theirs and thought “Oh, I know a lot about this and I could add information which would help everyone!” but I can’t respond to them, I can’t interact with them and that’s where Blizzard states that their thoughts and opinions have value and mine don’t.

So, again, why does any of it matter? Let them swim in their pool, and let us swim in ours.

Who needs tinfoil ? The forum is public.

We can already see the “Awesome content Blizzard! Keep at it!”, outside of now banned member Prosident’s threads.

Whatever you have to tell yourself, I hope it’s working and actually helping to ease your struggle.

Because what would happen is you would end up with only streamers and youtubers who have the largest following… and then people would complain even more because they dont like that content creator. Smaller ones that went through the process sure. The bigger content creators ideas get parroted all the time, so it does nothing to put them on a council when they have a large audience that they reach anyways, and their audience just flood the forums with whatever they say like it is the holy scripture.

Only if they applied.

You don’t see Jennifer Lawrence being President of the United States.

no the best option is and has always been in game through suggestions. Every one of my ideas that was adopted went through that route. I get the feeling that is one of the few routes that goes directly to the people who matter and skips the middle men.

So… the actual players who reach the widest WOW audience, are somehow poor representatives of the community? Big streamers are literally the perfect candidates because they want to please the largest WOW audiences and keep the game going. If they’re not constantly advocating for what their huge audiences want, they have much more to lose. My guess is that big streamers would turn it down anyhow.

I’m not saying that a council is the best option in this case, but a council selected by the community is going to much better represent us than a council selected by Blizzard. The only people who would want to be on a council representing people who didn’t even vote for them are either clueless or hungry for power.

They have had a direct feedback line to Blizz for years. The community already “voted” them onto the radar and they are already in the Blizzard Influencer programs.

The point of the Council was to reach out to folks who are not already giving that feedback. Guild leaders, role play, pet battles, accessibility, collecting, solo content, PvP, transmog, collecting, achievements.

They aren’t the best candidates, because what they have to say is already readily available online for blizzard to see. So it just becomes redundant to have a forum full of them to post in again, if blizzard wants to see it they can go to any of their socials and readily see it…and as the forums can attest a lot of people dont like streamers or always agree with streamers opinions either. Nor are alot of streamers casual at the game or do anything other then what attracts the most viewers. That is why blizzard found people who play the game differently and from all walks of wow. Not just content creators.

And yet Blizzard ignored all of it.

Strange uh.

thank you for your opinion.

I’m ignoring you now…

Like GD? The forum they already had?

With that response, I’d think you’d be a welcome among the Community Council.

The one that constantly just has troll post and arguing banter with nothing productive? That GD?

Look at all the categories mirasol listed. A cm could have pinned a blue post at the top of GD for each of those and encouraged civil discussion. They have moderators they could have kept the thread clear of trolls. So yes that GD.

Exactly right — and I think that’s the best part about it.

The point is it gets the pot stirring and the conversation going. Everyone has a different way of speaking and presenting their ideas and that’s fine - it should be cherished.

Whatever ideas or things that can be extracted should be extracted, but at least it’s a place where everyone can have their own voice that’s at least a little closer to the dev team

good post, but I fail to see the point in OP’s " leave Brittany alone " post.

WoW is like a continent sized ship that takes years to change direction and a few details can’t make a difference.

I don’t play FF14, but they seem to wake up every day and say " let’s do something nice for our customers"

Blizzard just wants our money…
