Don't bully the Council - allow them to do their things

I would just like to point out that, although you are certainly entitled to your opinions and beliefs, you don’t have any particular rights on a public forum owned by a business. You agreed to a terms of service to be on here. Your rights aren’t being infringed upon either.

You are free to engage in any conversation, but they decided that particular forum was designated for a special purpose. And that’s their (Blizzards) prerogative. It doesn’t stop you from coming to GD and saying what you are saying. So you’re certainly not silenced.

Can we all please quit with this narrative? It’s silly.

There is a massive difference. The discord server you’re referencing was opened to the entire GD and not moderated.

Mine is open only to those people who have characters on connected Vek’Nilash, Nazgrel & Nesingwary and it is moderated.

hey now, i am just deducing based on what i see =/

Well, isnt the “entire” GD customers? Shouldnt they also have a voice?

I do agree with respect to the lack of both moderation, and practical common sense.

They do… on GD. A moderated forum.

if blizz doesnt pick then it would be just streamers with biggest influence. if they ban streamers from being picked then it would just be streamers friends / guildies.

if player base got to pick it would just be people with the biggest following

Yours also existed way before you applied to be on the Council and is an example of what you were already doing to engage with your WoW community.

Already what it is pretty much.

At least it wouldn’t be yes men that Blizzard picks amongst the crowd they know will give them what they want.

So then, i still question the need for a CC in the first place. If their voices are so loud there and so equally heard, the CC seems merely academic.

I didn’t say it was against the law or that I planned on filing a lawsuit.

What is the “special purpose” of that forum? If the community isn’t allowed to interact in it, it’s not to gather community feedback, so what it is?

And why label them “community council” if they’re not selected by the community? Why not label them “Blizzard’s Chosen?” They don’t represent the community if they were chosen by Blizzard.

The million dollar question. Its a program that has purposely created division in the community for some PR stunt to pretend they will listen to feedback they already have.

It’s a farce.

Ironically they banned or removed one of the most active poster there lol, and he had great points on his posts

This is just proof that people are complaining about the council members but aren’t actually reading what you guys are posting about. I don’t agree with all of it but a lot good ideas are posted.

People are allowed to feel that they aren’t being represented. People are allowed to be vocal about it also.

Now flat out attacking someone because they have a different opinion than you: yeah, I get that that shouldn’t be allowed.

Attack the opinion, not the person making the opinion.

Hey, haven’t seen you in a while.

That’s the thing. The good feedback wasn’t posted in GD. It was posted in the beta forums and class forums.

I personally have no issues with anyone at all in the CC, and i think your statement is misguided. The reigning question seems to be why the CC? Not why the people who are in the CC?

For sure a lot of great ideas are posted, but what is great for 40 some odd people to voice is not necessarily great to their millions of subscribers, I feel confident that Henry the VIIIth’s inner circle also believed that all their ideas were great too…i mean, who was gonna argue with them?

I don’t post as much as I used to.

Probably a good thing.

The idea is that the CC members are active in the forums and read what people are saying. Based on that take those opinions and wants and turn them into constructive criticisms on how to make the game a better place. They dont just go into the forum and spam blizzard is garbage burn it down haha FF has more subs stuff it gets us nowhere. There are positives in this game, and negatives you can take a negative and make it into a positive tho, and maybe they can have the ideas to do that. Which from this thread Im glad alot of these people arent on the CC.

Again, I should have applied. But I hardly do anything in game anymore, but I do have ideas on things I’d like to see implemented or ways to improve certain systems (hello, pathfinder).

Heck, I haven’t touched LFR in a while this expac.

I probably would have been a good choice for it. I know how to discuss things and not have it turn totally into a mess.

I mean, a lot of you probably know my opinion as far as flying goes, but I also know PF is probably not going away. But I also feel there are ways to improve it.

Way back a couple of expacs ago, I used to make long winded suggestion type of posts. Usually brought in some good discussions depending on what I was talking about. If GD wasn’t what GD is now, I’d probably try to start those again.
