Those “spheres” you’re linking are actually flat pancake shapes seen at a 90 degree angle.
Draenor was also a flat pancake, and after what happened it crumbled into the current cookie-fragment shape.
Azeroth is round its the Nether thats flat.

Not only is it flat. it’s also a simulation.
You can tell because time flows a lot slower with a lot of combat. And no true god would create gnomes.
