For me it’s not even just WoW. The whole of Blizzard seems devoid of imagination. I’ve debated uninstalling the entire Blizzard app because pretty much every game they have is either underdeveloped, overmonetized, or just plain buggy. I’m also tired of giving Blizzard chances to fix these issues because it’s starting to feel like an abusive relationship.
Please don’t be discouraged. I understand you’re new but please understand that this game used to be amazing and could be again.
The point of this post is to bring attention to the game and hopefully they will address some of the issues that I personally feel are making the game …not fun.
Oh, WoW is definitely not WoW anymore.
I can accept change, but not the ruining of WoW due to the arrogance of the devs.
This is exactly where I’m at. I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels this way.
The thing is, I WANT to play wow. It feels terrible to unsub but it just isn’t worth the headache anymore.
im done too. 14 days left. SL is terrible, unplayable.
Sad how desperately you need the game to fail in your absence. If it does you feel vindicated, if it doesn’t its some other excuse.
On the contrary, I want it to succeed. I love wow or at least what it used to be.
I WANT them to turn it around and prove me wrong.
They could make some very minor changes and have my sub again but until those changes happen, there’s no reason for me to be here NOT having fun, ya know?
Well said, one of the most articulated posts on the forum in a while.
Well, seeing how Candy Crush and Call of Duty make more money than WoW for Actibliz and project leads forced into those franchises, WoW sailing or sinking off into the sunset is an acceptable loss.
Key people quitting, massive ignorance of the community, short cutting things like WC3R, and doubling down on esporting the game has really been heartbreaking from this fan since 1999.
And let’s forget catering to foreign nations, not standing up for it’s not ready till it’s ready quality, impecable customer service, and games made by gamers for gamers.
I think it’s completely fair to post quitting. I’ve done a few then came back years later.
This was my reply to that statement.
Awesome! Questing through the old zones is a lot of fun. Legion is really cool because you get the class order hall and some cool mounts. Frankly I think THAT should be the mandatory expansion for newbies but I’m sure I’ll get some disagreement on that.
I did notice that when I took a fresh character thru BFA that there was an issue with interupts in the first dungeon Freehold. That dungeon wasn’t properly tuned for low levelers and we eventually disbanded as a group due to not having the tools needed to interupt the mobs (you don’t get that ability until you hit the 20s.
I quit WOW because of BFA and came back for shadowlands. I think the problem is WOW got into this pattern of good expansions followed by bad one like Microsoft. BFA was so bad that shadowlands needed to blow it out of the park. Unfortunately shadowlands has continued to follow in BFAs footstep. Shadowlands is better but it’s not the expansion wow needed. WOW will probably never die but a third bad or meh expansion is going to lead to severe bleeding of the base resulting in a downward spiral.
Somewhere along the way it became less about what’s more fun and more about the money and “time played metrics”.
Those bonuses aren’t just pulled out of thin air.
The game is awful and are we really surprised? We lost Kaplan, Metzen, and Morhaime and we’re stuck with Ion and J. Allen Brack as president LMAO
No, but your time-played conspiracy is.
$50 says the Facebook mission table returns in some form in 10.0. Bookmark this post.
What conspiracy? They literally rate themselves on how many hours people play the game, not by active subs.
I want you to take care and do well in your journey forward.
That’s not correct.
They use a metric consisting of what they call an MAU. MAU stands for monthly access user. If you log on WoW for 2 mins in a month you are counted the same as another player who logged 200 hours that month. All you have to do is log in and you are counted as 1 MAU for WoW. Logging in numerous times, logging in for many hours, ect. will not increase the MAU number that you count for WoW that month.
You can easily access this information, along with their definition of MAU, and anything else you might be curious about in their financial reports that are public information.
There was a time I did this, now I main my favorites, a Druid and this hunter. I do have profession alts, but they only had to get to Oribos to learn and max them, they are still sitting at 50.
I find it much easier to avoid burn out when I’m not pushing 12 characters through all the weekly stuff, two expansions was enough. It also gives time to play other games, which is also helping to avoid the WoW burn.
If you need to hang it up, I understand completely. I hate to see yet another long time player leaving, that’s what’s bad for the game. Do enjoy where you land and consider coming back. Peace.
