Leveling 85-90 is absolute torture for alts, I’ve never seen anything like this. There’s literally no fun — dungeons give almost no experience, quests are just as bad, it’s insanely slow. Doing it once on a main I can understand, but here we are, a month after MoP Classic’s release, and alt leveling is still the same insane XP grind. I don’t know what game you devs think you’re making, but I’m done. I want to level 5-10 alts that are already 85, but I can’t — 85-90 takes way too long, it’s a damn snail’s pace. I realized the devs are just spitting in our faces, so I rage uninstalled the game. I can’t stand when developers don’t respect their players, and that’s exactly what’s happening here. Everyone is asking for an XP nerf / Joyous Journeys.
80-85 in Cata was really fast, but 85-90 in MoP is an absolute nightmare for alts.
And don’t give me the ‘WoW is a leveling game’ excuse — I’ve got two level 60s on Classic Anniversary where leveling was actually enjoyable, because WoW Classic is a real adventure game. But in MoP the only thing that matters is the endgame. Doing all the quests on one character in MoP Classic I can understand, but on alts it’s pure torture. I’m not going to force myself through that, so I’m quitting this game until there’s a Joyous Journey buff or XP nerf. Anyway, I just had to let out my frustration.
You can get 85-90 in a day through questing if you have flying. The experience nerf already happened, the required experience for leveling 1-84 has been reduced, why would the current level bracket be nerfed that makes no sense.
Level through questing, do dungeons only for their dungeon quests and getting to 90 won’t take that long, it’s like 3 days if you want to take your time. If you think this is too long then I think you should play Retail where getting max level can be done in 3 hours.
I assume when you say ‘one day’ or ‘three days’ you mean /played. So yeah, you’re proving my point — leveling is extremely slow. There’s no point in lying, you’re never doing 85-90 in one normal day. Maybe three full days of dungeon grinding at 8 hours a day, but spamming the same dungeons for 8 hours a day over 3 days is not fun at all — it’s pure torture. Flying changes absolutely nothing, literally nothing.
It’s insane how fried the brains are of the people defending this leveling. Tons of players are quitting because of it, whether at MoP’s launch or now, since it’s impossible to level alts without burning out. Either way, I’ve already uninstalled — I’m just one of the thousands more who will quit for the exact same reasons as me
And don’t tell me I just don’t like leveling — I’ve got two level 60s on Classic Anniversary where leveling is actually long. So don’t even bring that up. Compared to Retail, you just sound like an id****
No I mean literally a day, I got this character to 90 the day after launch and that’s with no flying so I’d imagine getting a character to 90 with flying can be done within a day.
I think it’s very possible if you have flying and a questing addon such a RestedXP
Never did.
80-85 during Cataclysm was longer in comparison to MoPs 85-90 and it took me twice as long to get to 85 during Cataclysm and that’s with flying.
That tells me nothing, for all I know you leveled them through dungeons
Leveling in Vanilla, TBC, Wrath was just as long. In Wrath alone, you had to do almost every quest in each zone to hit 80. You’re acting like leveling is suddenly worse than before when it really isn’t 0.o
Bye then. If you’re quitting over 85–90, that’s your call. But I genuinely don’t get the outrage XP isn’t that bad. If anything, I wish it were slower. I’ve already leveled 7 toons and I’m starting my 8th this Sunday to run more GDKPs. You say it’s torture, I say it’s content. Maybe the real issue isn’t the XP it’s that you want instant gratification in a game built around progression. The leveling is nowhere near the 1-60 grind which it looks like you enjoyed doing!
These are the retail tourist Andy players they show up for a couple weeks, then bail. They don’t want the Classic experience; they want it retailized, packed with QoL handouts and nonstop catering.
