Does Wow Need an “Androgynous.” Option At Character Creation Screen? Wait now… Everyone just relax…Breath. I consider this a legitimate question. And I’m posing it in good faith.
Disclaimer: I just pose a question for people to think about and discuss in a civilized friendly manner.
In Wow, as in many other games. People gender-bend: meaning some Guys play female characters. And some Gals play male characters. It would seem that the idea is not that farfetched. And I think many players would welcome the change. More options is always a good thing.
So. As it stands now. At the character creation screen all the races can select a Male or a Female Gender for their character. The difference is cosmetic of course. (there are no gender locked classes). Choosing Male makes your character appear bigger bulkier, more muscled with harder body lines. Choosing Female makers your character appear smaller, softer more curvy. And of course with noticeable breasts.
But what if you prefer your character to have a gender neutral appearance. So that the character has no breasts but does not look male either. Could that be done from the artistic side of things. Including gender neutral walking and gesturing animations?
This may help people who do not feel comfortable being gender locked in appearance. And will offer a third option for everybody else.
Please share your opinion.
I’m always down for more customization, so no problems here from me. Though given how many people will screech to the heavens about the current animations compared to the older model animations, I could see that being a point of contention because of course it has to be.
I’ve always wanted something closer to body shape sizes. Androgyny aside, you could play a human that isn’t hulked out or a male Draenei that isn’t a walking fridge unit. Though programming that on top of Blizzard’s spaghetti programming might not be as possible.

Sounds like a Blood Elf.
Don’t you wish your gf was hot like me.
More seriously I wish the game has prettier human males

I didn’t say this as a joke or dig or anything, being serious, vulpera is a good option. They seem to be the least extreme in their sexual dimorphism. It’s kinda refreshing.

After Tauren and Worgen, Vulpera are a very refreshing change of pace indeed.

Honestly if there are enough people out there who feel excluded by the dual gender picker it makes sense.
But that’s a lot of design team time. Would need design for all races, transmog for all armor types, animations for every spec. It would be a lot of work, and I don’t see Blizz putting that time really, but who knows…
I mean the NF helm still clip my horns and the other one removes them for some reason… they can even seem to pay attention to what they already have.

Came here to say this, the Vulpera are probably the least Sexually Dimorphic race on Azeroth.
It’s actually quite nice. It’s hard to tell from just a silhouette.
Like the exact opposite of the Draenei.

Can you just play the game and not care what your gender is?

Sure, why not? More options are always welcomed.
I’d be good with that.
Maybe an entire race that is non specific for gender. You could make it whatever you wanted. Built like a slim Blood Elf youth, very non specific gender wise.
Wait, males look like males? Thought we were a bunch of Ken dolls running around. Does this mean we should expect a bowie bulge slider?

Gender selection and race selection has always been an important factor in MMORPGS.
Look at Black Desert. There are classes that only have ONE gender available. They have since released some of them as both Male and Female versions with different class names but the same overall skills (Witch and Wizard, for instance, and Ninja and Kunoichi).
Choices are always good. And in a game like Wow that doesn’t have sliders and highly customizable skin (a better word might be frame for the skin) options on their characters, it would be especially good to use a race to fill in the need for non gender specific.
Androgyny entails possession of both male and female characteristics.
Sorry, that was [REDACTED].

Full Definition: partly male and partly female in appearance; of “Indeterminate Sex.”
Meaning you cannot tell if the person you are looking at is male or female.

Betteridge’s law applies even to forum posts.
Um there has been a whole androgynous race in wow for over a decade.
Like seriously, knock it off.
Yes, because they have mixed characteristics of both, not because they have no characteristics of either.
