World of WARcraft has (almost) always been about a war, between 2 factions. However that was changed and we now hug our enemies and group with them. I wouldn’t say there’s much WARcraft at all.
Does that mean in The WAR Within they’ll finally just delete factions and it will be one big party with everyone on the same side vs vulpera? If that’s the case then they should really do a pass over racials because the alliance have the most over powdered ones and the horde wouldn’t be able to compete. Or maybe The WAR Within is about our inner turmoil to betray our faction and join the other side.
Either way, in WoW’s current style, there’s no war, maybe its just time to delete factions?

Please no, I’m all for cross faction gameplay but you have to remember that War Mode and BG’s still exist.
Horde/Ally already have the ability to que and fight for the other side, why would removing factions change anything?
It would effectively make War Mode useless which is Horde vs Ally.
But blizzard already removed forced world pvp with a toggle
They added the ability to que and fight for the “enemy” in battlegrounds
They added the ability to dungeon group with the “enemy”
How are factions still a thing when theres no separation anymore?
And there are still people who use said toggle, and world pvp was never “forced”.
War Mode.
Make all races neutral, but keep the factions. I wouldn’t even be against new battles against eachother, but I hate the racial segregation concept for the factions. It’s so outdated and restricting. Meh.

Some players are really unhealthily obsessed with the idea of faction war. Like they need something to hate.
World of Conflictcraft doesn’t quite have the same ring to it. It ain’t that deep.
ConflictCraft III had the factions bind together, in order to face a greater threat. Great game, would play again.

Could just either make a free for all like other games or put people in a temporary faction in War Mode. Either way factions don’t make sense anymore since BGs can just mix and match teams with both factions.
War mode, with the exception of specific (and small) parts of the world is split by faction.
As it always should be. Full FFA war mode would be much worse.
Forced tea parties make no sense, too, though. I think a middle ground should be found.
As I said, it would be nice if people were no longer forced to choose a certain faction based on race, but it would also be natural if there was still hatred. With so much genocide in this game, it’s more than strange if everyone is suddenly singing “Kumbaya.” And yes, a Horde human could just as easily attack an Alliance human for their own reasons, just like an orc could. For every race, you can find a faction that thinks differently from the majority. The way Blizzard handles its racial segregation concept makes it seem like everyone suffers from a hive mind mentality.
I don’t really care to be honest. As long as they allow me to quest and queue with friends cross-faction I will be happy.

Factions will stay even if only meaningful for political reasons.
But also factions never excused the poor balancing on racials.
Do dracthyr or pandas have a leaning towards the alliance or horde? One would assume there would be a balance but if there was a large bias then opening up all races to being neutral could make make the whole factions more unbalanced…or it coule fix it too.
It would definitely be more fun to play your favorite faction along with your favorite races, instead of being forced to choose a faction you might not even like.

They will eventually remove Factions, when they figure out a way to make the coding changes without completely destroying the game’s functionality.
everything they’ve done in the past like 2 years both narratively and functionally has been for the purpose of making the faction divide as small as humanly possible.
at some point, the only real functional differences will be the colors of our forum avatars.
no factions stay anyone who demands otherwise should not even be allowed to play wow as for calling for the end of the factions is calling for the end of the game factions are staying all demands and comments otherwise will be ignored and anything said about anything from them elsewhere are on the do not listen to list forevermore
Create more factions within the Horde and the Alliance and have them fight it out amongst themselves, but keep the Horde and Alliance neutral until the next big war.
