the real question is why are they moving towards removing factions?
and the answer is that WoW’s playerbase got smaller, Most Server Populations are lopsided in favor of one Faction or the other, and Blizzard is too proud and egotistic to do proper server merges, because that would “make it look like WoW is failing” when in reality it’s just a really old game, and population decline was bound to happen at some point.
which is why we still have hundreds of low population servers that are “linked” to each other, instead of a handful of fully populated Megaservers.
more war. horde needs a warchief not having one is making it weak and another thing should happen you should only be able to play 1 faction per server we need to stop the interacting of factions bring back faction pride and bring more division against eachothers faction permanently we cant have the peacecraft lovers keep ruining wow.
No.
There will always be factions. In fact there are more than two.
Regardless, if you like PvP and want to fight Alliance vs Horde, turn Warmode on.
Enjoy.

everyone whos anti factions should have no say in wow due to the damage they have brought since bfa and their brilliant ideas of good story.
Who is “anti faction”?
Are you referring to being able to create guilds and party with both alliance and horde characters?
That has nothing to do with factions.
as in their anti horde and alliance being seperate.
How do we know a whole new faction from another planet won’t come into the light? Or multiple new factions from somewhere else?
Diversity of perspectives and backgrounds is good for a game like an RPG.
Also just good for story-telling in general imo.
Faction vs faction generally means more interpersonal conflicts. Also, the reasons people are fighting are usually more complex than just “we all gotta come together to fight the big bad”. No matter what your background, you have to fight the big bad. Nobody feels unique when everyone’s motivations and reasons for those motivations are the same.

Yeah and there’s likely tons and tons of planets and factions out there like the ethereals planet and their story. So much more story to tell, potential conflicts, new tech and magic, and unknown big threats.

We have always been at war, just not necessarily with each other.
Dynamics change, but the name is still correct.
The faction war is dead though.
Much like Starcraft being set amongst the stars, this was set amongst war - but 20 years in real time has transpired, time to move on.

The war is over, the horde shall be assimilated into what will be known as the grand alliance. As the alliance was clearly the good guys and the horde was bad the alliance will forgive the horde for their evil ways as long as the horde helps reconstruct all that the horde has done. They are to swear fealty to high king anduin, while their racial leaders shall represent them will be known as the council of azeroth. Sarcasm

They can’t “delete” factions entirely because most of the game is built on having two and only two. The game still has many features, from PvP to available transmog and mounts, that rely on you being part of a faction and would experience all sorts of technical problems if both factions suddenly stopped existing.
The widespread idea that cross-faction play will lead to a complete merge needs to be officially addressed and debunked, because I’ve never heard of any faction-based MMO that abolished their factions entirely as opposed to lessening restrictions. DCUO puts everyone in the same instance queues but its factions still exist, WildStar did the same, SWTOR has like one cross-faction PvP instance, etc.
