Haven’t seen it through searching, but will he lock you out for the whole of Kara if you just do him only? Unless I’m not understanding properly, if he locks you to kara, then you only get 2 shots to get the Arcanite Ripper? That seems, like an oversight.
Secondly, everyone else is saying that he comes the week of the 13th, but wowhead says he comes in phase 4 of the zombie plague which is usually 21 hours after the start of the zombie plague.
Should he not be in Kara right now then?
Not an expert on this issue, but the small # of chances is why a lot of guilds are looking at doing this with groups of 4-5 to maximize the number of players who can get it.

Easier to do it in groups of 5 than 10 so you get x2 the chance of getting it. Then add more after if you want people for a full run who don’t want Tenris.
makes sense. Also, do you know if he is in the game today? Because wowhead is saying zombie plague a new boss is added to karazhan, the quest he gives for the monster slaying kit doesnt come out until scourge invasion which is the 13th.
He’s in on the 13th. The WOTLK zombie event is in 2 parts, with the first part involving people turning into zombies starting yesterday. 2nd part which involves the scourge attacking parts of the world and Tenris+other Scourge bosses start showing up in dungeons begins on Sept.13th.
Knew he would be in before the 13th. He’s spawned as of now inside Kara. It’s P4 of the zombie plague that he gets added. So yeah, you get more than 2 chances to try for the axe at this point.
The question is does he lock you to Kara

yes he locks you or else you would be able to go after the axe many times in a week.
Oh for sure, I figured he would lock you, it just is kind of lame that you only get 3 chances at it, so you’re going to have run 3-4 man groups to get it and hope no one else in your raid can do 2h axes.
Kind of a let down of a super special event with a 100% drop rate if everyone can need on it even if they cant use it

This boss is in the game today, I went and did it with a friend and we were both able to loot the pet and he dropped the 2h axe.
yeah the pet drops for everyone, it’s also a feat of strength to get the pet during the prepatch. But were you both able to roll and/or obtain the axe or was only one of you able to get the Axe?
Killing Prince Tenris Murkblood locks you to the raid. I killed him last week without killing Attumen and got saved. Was still saved when I hearthed to Shatt, left the group, and relogged and Tenris was the only boss I had killed.
He only drops one axe per kill - only one person can loot and equip it per kill. Everyone can loot the pet.
