trying to push 1500 and between 0-1200 and even when we were at900, large majority of people have brutal gladiator pieces. like what gives? the gear disparity is so massive for low rated arenas.

Yes, mmr exists, there are multiple addons you can use to track it.
Even with mmr the PvP scene is so dead you will regularly see 1900-2.1k rated teams @ 1700

Ya it’s brutal. The other day I had an arena match vs a 1950 team, then the very next match, a 1576 team. I wish this was a rare occurrence but it’s not. Ratings are all over the place.

how am i running into people with brutal gear, rogues with glaives multiple sets of brutal, at like 1300 rating. how are these people not higher rated with such insane gear? actually ridiculous.
gear can only carry you so much
5 random people with pve gear with no pvp experience can pull over 1000 points a week from just going into 5s and just doing braindead zugzug strats.
At this point in the patch these people can have 3+ pieces of brutal gear on top of the full s3 stuff they get from BGs and last season’s bargain bin. Its not surprising that you can see highly geared players in low ratings.
What is far worse than geared players in low ratings is the carry services imo. Always fun pushing to 2k and running into multiple gladiators on the way.
oh, didn’t realize how much 5s was better. are the calculators online off or something? i found that 2s/3s/5s are roughly within 100-200 pts of each other.

Its because no one plays tbc arena. Its extremely unpopular. So the pool of players is small. Simple as that.
oh yeah 3s is even worse. 900 rated and fighting 1700-1800 rated 3s teams with lots of gear.
The best thing you can do is just wait for wotlk. The PvP isnt perfect, but its infinitely better than tbc, with a lot more comp variety. It’ll surely be more popular than tbc arena.
Its to be expected. TBC was Blizzard’s first time experimenting with the arena concept. Theres a reason it has the least popular PvP scene out of any of the pserver expansions.
