Does item level matter?

I see a lot of conflicting views on this. Will a fresh 120 with low item level be fine in arena?

Ilvl makes a huge difference.

If you are talking a 20ilvl gap…then no not really skill level can overcome, now if you are talking 50-70ilvl+ then yes…unless you are playing a OP class (which you kinda are) luckly gear is very easy to get with random arenas and emmisary and warfronts

Yes. It matters especially at decent ratings (2200+?) where I play at. Every piece of gear matters.

Yes it makes a massive difference I think they seemed to have fixed the “bug” that was under-geared players doing more dps than mythic raid geared players.
