Does the Executive Producer of World Of Warcraft know that hundreds of thousands of paying customers lost millions of items from a “bug” that deleted their entire guild bank?
Is she in charge of the the database / development team? If not, who is?
How did this happen from Blizzard? A multi-billion dollar company?
First off, my sympathies to those who lost items, but a few things…
Why wouldn’t she know?
Where are you getting these numbers from?
Why is this in quotes? Are you implying something intentional or nefarious?
You just stated her title earlier. What is this?
Yes, this is the first time in recorded history a billion dollar company has screwed something up before. Sometimes happens and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
All our items, in a character bank, Reagent Bank, Warband Bank, or Guild Bank, are only database items. Blizzard still has them in backups/logs. They just don’t care enough to restore our items.
They haven’t commented since Sep 20, 2024.
They are embarrassed that they lost those items, critical to an MMORPG, and I was wondering if the top leadership even knows about this.
The situation really does suck, but how would top leadership not know about this? Even if the dev team tried to hide this, it was spread around over gaming social media. How would this go unnoticed?
The unintentional effect of merging and making all guilds fully cross server. It only saved the most recent deposits before the transition thats why you got a parity amount of items back. I lost 20% of my total guild bank and got back 60 goblin gliders because that was the latest deposit I made.
I don’t think enough people take into account that by continuing to try to innovate and modernize the game off a 20 year old foundation that there are going to be bumpy roads along the way. Imagine how many things housing is going to break when it gets here.
