Champions: The Archon, Winter Queen, Denathrius, The Primus
Paragons, The Court, etc…
Are all these “Pantheons” relatively equal in power?
Did Sargeras ascend to the “leader” of Disorder by killing the previous Disorder’s “leader” or “Champions” or was he just working for someone else?
Did Aman’Thul and/or Elune grow concerned with Zovaals power or motives and work with the “Champions of Death” (Winter Queen, Archon, etc) to imprison him?
(Was he tipping the scales too far into Death, causing Elune (life) to be concerned and want him imprisoned)
Sargeras was trying to use fragments of the Titans souls to create a pantheon of Disorder, which suggests that no, not all the cosmic forces have a pantheon, only ones that have been ‘ordered’ by the Titans.
Each Titan in the Order Pantheon represents at least one other cosmic force, Eonar is Life, Argus is Death, Tyr is Light, etc. Im sure there’s going to be some explanation at some point on how Titan souls are used to create Pantheons.
Yeah, possibly. Thank you for pointing that out! He was using Eonar, Aggramar and two other’s souls to created a new Pantheon in Legion…only 4 Titan souls.
We know that Sargeras never dove too deep into the Nether and that deep in the Nether dwelled beings so powerful that even Sargeras never…tried to recruit them. Presumably, this is the Pantheon of Chaos.
Possibly. It would be interesting to see where the demons came from, but I imagine they are a lot like the Void Lords, where they are out of our field of perception, being higher dimensional beings.
WoW would need to introduce an abstract tessaract concept in astrophysics, to see them.
That’s what I mean, is there a “leader” of disorder that corrupted or influenced Sargeras to become one of his “champions.”
Basically, I was wondering:
Shadow and Light were doing their own thing, corrupting the universe.
Disorder’s “Leader” started tipping the scales, and with the corruption and influence over Sargeras, started destroying worlds. Death was increasing faster than Life. (Hence causing more disorder)
With worlds dying across the universe, Zovaal was growing in immense power, which concerned Elune. (Life)
Elune sought help from Aman’Thul in imprisoning Zovaal and creating the Arbiter to take his place.
Disorder’s “Leader” working with Sargeras, Denathrius and the Dreadlords, sought to “free” Zovaal with the death of a “Trojan Horse” Argus.
You know in retrospect the Disorder Branch seems to be severely underpowered.
Their main agents are from the Death Branch.
Their generals and elite soldiers are Eredar a mortal but advanced civilization.
Their Leader who ascended above all of them is a Titan from the Order Branch at the point if take all the other Branches and mortal races away from Disorder what do they really have?
I think it was Danuser who once said that this happens regularly when several of the forces join one forces when one of the forces becomes too powerful to fight back alone.
Well the Void has the Void Lords as their Pantheon, but they are not a thing you’d want to be near. They are basically sentient black holes. There are apparently a whole lot of them.
The Light I have a strong suspicion is sort of the inverse, and sort of singular. That might be in the form of a single Light Lord, or a pantheon with a collective consciousness directed to one goal.
The Titans seem very ignorant of the other cosmic planes by design. The moment Sargeras was made aware of forces unable to be ordered he basically malfunctioned.
It’s possible that every force will have a pantheon, but its important to remember that it’s not guaranteed to happen, like so many assume. Maybe Fel is ruled by three demons, maybe Life is ruled over by a singular Elune, maybe Light really just stops at thousands of Naaru.
The rulers of each cosmic force are the ones that just happen to be the strongest weilders of that force. Nothing is baked into physics that demands a pantheon of X members for each.
This at least we know is not true, as we know the Naaru have “keepers”; it seems more like the Naaru are more equivalent to the Old Gods than a pantheon proper. Just like pure void cannot exist in the Mortal plane, it seems highly likely pure light cannot either.
