Does even a single person at blizz pvp now?

Part of the big issue with tanks is they lost what defined them as tanks.

In the past, there was defense rating. While I didn’t like the design and it’s link to gear, I still think it was a necessary thing to have in the game to differentiate DPS or heals from tanks. Defense rating made it nearly impossible for dps to tank anything for very long. If you wanted to pull instead of the tank, you were quickly ‘punished’ because of it.

This also has made tanks annoying in PvP. Prot palidans heals as much as healers with almost no resource management. Tanks having some healing is fine, like Blood DK. But tanks should still rely on healers for healing. To that, I’m fine with tanks having good damage, IF they don’t have lots of healing. You should only get 1 of those things, not both.

No, they did nerf Sub real early on. It’s still strong but, uh… Everything else is fine.

For real pvp is an absolute joke now.

Right-- a tank in PvP is heavy defensive to outlast opponents and either strong burst damage moments or powerful utility to disrupt. In WoW though, there is no “support” roles though. It’s healer, damage, cross CC, and coordinate cooldowns.

What is incredibly sad is that 8.3 PvP was more balanced than 9.0 PvP.

Exactly… The biggest problem is the complete mess of classes now. For example:
Rogue (just using this class as my example)
A Rogue is supposed to be a “dirty fighter”. Remember? They have the best control of any class in the game by far. They are an annoyance. They can slow caps. render healers useless if not watched and can survive really good. They also have the ability to just vanish, go and come back. When did blizz decide that they should be top damage tier as well? I mean, talk about BAD, BAD design. If you are trying to make a game of 3-4 classes that are only good in PVP… Blizz is nailing it.

Someone died in 1vs 1 PvP… news at 2AM.

This morning I had to drop a shadow priest below 20% 5 times before he just shadow mended to victory and finally killed me, what’s your point?

What’s your point? You lost… you got outplayed… you thought the game is balanced around 1 vs 1 pvp… guess what cupcake… it isn’t.

He trying to be witty with a joke as old as dirt. People ignore these trolls.

Exactly, my post was as pointless as yours was, “cupcake”.

Notice he hides his armory? Hes a fraud. Only posts to make you think hes something… He isnt. We ignore these children. Dont let a tool like this side track a good discussion.

1/10.
Doesn’t say enough to warrant more points.

Yea. I thank tanks should have a place in PvP, but it should be their abilities to survive and offer utility. It shouldn’t be healing their team and should be minimal damage.

Yea. And it was so bad. Sad.

Shadowlands PvP was shaping up to be the best thing we have had since MoP. The first couple weeks were honestly pretty fun. Everyone was starting from scratch and we were all on the same level. Abilities weren’t super crazy yet, but it felt fairly balanced outside of a few abilities. By the 5th week or so, it just started to go downhill quickly. Two months in and playing alts was terrible.

Gear is terrible. Balance is terrible. Even if there some balance, game just isn’t fun. To much RNG. Dying in a second because someone pressed two buttons is terrible.

That’s not it at all. I wish it was.

Instancing is what started killing Everquest too…there was a big open world to explore and fight in then with Lost Dungeons of Norrath instancing was introduced and it was all downhill from there.

I’m not a pvper so my opinion doesn’t really hold much weight here, but I think they should scale the gear somehow in rated matches. Outside of that, it’s always going to be a mess. It’d be impossible to balance even if they wanted to.

The staff whose armories are visible don’t PvP. Ion barely has any honor levels, and those look like they came just from warden towers or something it’s so pitiful. Game director that ignores large chunks of the game?

People in charge of e-sports tweet far more about MDI than AWC, and we still don’t have a competitive RBG scene despite that being more accessible for viewers than arenas ever could be. I can’t even stand AWC anymore because they just refuse to acknowledge their ladder, and 90% of it at that. PvP is a waste of time for the majority of people now between it being unrewarding, unbalanced, and obnoxious just to get to an entry point in.

The game feels like it’s just designed for “fun” like Vanilla, which is fine, but we have a ladder too. They really need to make their minds up on if they want to proceed stringing people along with this game as an actual competitive PvP game, or just flip the kill switch already.

I’m pretty bummed about all this because I intended to go hard this season, but I wound up grabbing all the elite sets, duelist (on my main), and then soon after almost everybody I knew either went Horde or quit, and then I followed Horde and … everybody’s gone, and I believe Courstar pointed out we had like 1k games played on the ladder above 2200(?) on the weekend.
This is just depressing as hell. I’m legitimately worried about next season, and even I’m considering just grabbing my elite set in a night again and then going to play Final Fantasy/Arcade games until next expansion because I just don’t want to deal with it anymore.

And this is just in regards to arenas/RBGs.
Unranked/wPvP is just … no. And that’s the heart of the game for me. Once I hit honor level 500, there’s literally no point to it anymore. It’s so unrewarding.

I got to 2100 on my shaman and then it was all about rets, druids and rogues… So BBBOOORRRIIINNNNNGGGG!!!

But besides that, you cant even just casually PVP anymore since everything is hidden behind ratings. Which I think was the nail in the coffin for WOW PVP.
