The folks on the CS Twitter are the exact same Forum Support Agents that are on the CS forum.
Yeah itâs pretty bad. I think the last 5-6 tickets Iâve opened over pretty serious bugs or item loss they didnât help me one bit, just automated replies and pretty much told me to piss off.
Thereâs zero expectation right now for them to help you. This probably started around Legion maybe start of BFA? I donât open tickets that often.
I clearly remember during wotlk/cata whenever I needed a GM for something they ALWAYS delivered, honestly Blizzard had the best customer support of any game Iâd ever played back then. Now theyâre the worst one.
In TBC I died while flying somewhere and couldnt get to my body to rez. I put in a ticket and the GM gave me gold to repair my gear from taking a rez. Little stuff like that is what constitutes good customer service.
Im sorry this happened to you op. Really sucks to lose something like that but, as others have pointed out, no amount of opening tickets is going to make this stop being a thing and its best to just take the L and refarm the cyphers.
Yeah, good old days when GMs would actually appear and talk to you.
I work remote and tickets are just an alt tab away. I will never stop.
Murders and rapes and thefts and assaults and any other crimes you want to dream up shouldnât happen but does.
Software should be 100% bug free and perform perfectly, but it doesnât always happen.
Just because something SHOULD be obviously doesnât mean it IS. You deal with what IS and not with what SHOULD be. Nobody here is arguing that the bug is fine and acceptableâŚjust that how you go about dealing with it is what matters. Your way is 100% unproductive and only lead to you being more annoyed when you get the eventual bad news that you wonât get helped in the way you expect and wastes time on your end, the GM answering the ticket, and players with tickets behind yours.
For me whenever I opened like 3+ tickets trying to get it resolved, the next person who replied would tell me if I open another ticket theyâd ban my account. Really great service.
This doesnât though. Players are stuck waiting for fixes, while never getting compensation for the error in the first place. Being able to buy something you were supposed to be given for free is not really a fix.
Yeah but a GM can technically just make items appear in your bag or mail. Just because they choose not to itâs fine?
GMâs can only do what the tools the devâs have developed for them to use allow them to do⌠Just because they used to be able to doesnât mean their tools can do it now. or for those items. Youâre relating Game Masters to developers when theyâre not. Theyâre effectively customer service reps.
I donât know if they were able to do that in the past, but I think they used to. Not anymore. If you want to make an item reappear in your bag after you lost it, the only way to get it back is to go through the item recovery process yourself. As far as I know, anyway. I think GMâs are a lot more limited in what they can do than people are lead to believe.
More power to ya! Cant blame someone for tryin. Just uh, dont do anything rash that could have consequences outside wow
100% they were. They have logs of everything that enters and leaves your inventory. If you open a ticket about a item missing when it shouldnât be, with two clicks of a mouse they can see the item and enter itâs item code(all items have one) and mail it to you.
I understand peopleâs frustration, but blaming the customer service people is misguided.
They donât make the policy, they just follow it.
Someone above them says âYou can do this but you canât do that.â They have no authority to override those policies at all.
Blame the company, not the people making 10-12 bucks an hour in some depressing call center where they monitor every second of your existence.
Iâve worked with CS folks for many years and everyone of them would absolutely push a button and give you what you wanted if they could just to get you off the phone and happy. The job of a CS rep in general is NOT to give the customer everything they want but to actually NOT do that and deal with the blow back.
CS folks I worked with have to deal with people wanting refunds or discounts on bills. They wanted to faster/expediated service or to make last minute changes to orders already process and shipped. They had to deal with angry customers upset over a problem that the CS problem has 0 input or say on but had to take the verbal assault for.
I get dealing with real money and needing to be strict with refunds etc, but these are virtual items, code and pixels. Thereâs an infinite amount of them. Making the customer happy isnât bad for anyone.
I do recall logging on after a brief break from WoW back in⌠Cataclysm or Wrath? And my character had been stripped bare, I had been hacked with no authenticator. And they were able to restore all or most of my items and gold. But I donât think they can do that anymore, unfortunately. I think the job description changed.
Yeah that was my original post, they need to go back to how it was.
No actually Iâm pretty sure mine is, but we can agree to disagree.
Regardless, the OP has a problem and 3 courses of action.
- Fix it himself by farming cyphers
- Wait for the ticket to be answered, told there is nothing they can do, and the ticket is closed
- Do nothing.
Only one of those gets his item back and achievement finished.
