Does Chris Metzen like the current story?

If Chris looks at the War Within story at the moment and the upcoming raid. Would he be proud of the story?

Personally I believe he thinks it’s goofy af.

I think people put Chris Metzen on a wierd pedestal.

He likes it

Chris Metzen makes epic stories. Modern WoW is akin to how to train your dragon. If I had to guess… he’s only got an influence in the overall plot but not the actual meat and potatoes.

We can’t get star power outside of WoW to promote WoW. So, we got star power within the WoW history to come back and help

And this is why it’s called The War Within

I don’t think anyone here is going to know how he personally feels about the story, especially when we are barely through the first act

Well, considering one of the first quests has me picking up plush dolls on the shore line, which pretty much sums up the story so far in a nutshell, it doesn’t take much to make a guess.

I wouldn’t expect him to be vocal about it over media, either. I think internal criticisms are kept behind closed doors.

I think The War Within had a good opening hook. Nice leveling experience. But now it’s going to do that thing that WoW does where it meanders off and tells a seperate, perhapse tangentially related story before circling back on this one in two or so years.

Oh hey look, an island of Pirates!

One of the first quests I played had me picking flowers, so clearly that’s the entire story

Cure way to phrase collecting tragic mementos from a destroyed city, one of the few things remaining of it.

Also that’s a WQ.

I wonder how the Undermine will fit into the world saga, but Goblin city theme and aesthetic is something I’m looking forward to

It’s probably going to relate to the Rootlands, the Harronir and the Black Blood.

The goblins dug too greedily and too deep. And so on, and so forth.

Every quest I’ve done has felt about as “epic” as those plush dolls. It’s laughable how bad it is. Muscling through the campaign felt like those people on fear factor who have to muscle through eating a jar of worms for money.

The War Within has a faction of paladins, empire of bugs, and an Anduin so it’s possible he’s perhaps happy. :8ball::robot:

Skill issue imo

Yeah, a skill issue for the story writing team. That sounds about right.

I meant you. War Within has been neat so far. But folks just want to be angry so they make up problems.

They always have. It can’t be fun. I remember seeing this ooooold interview linked on the old forums about how he’s actually kind of shy and is a fly under the radar guy.
