I know unlocking one faction’s warfront armor unlocks the other faction’s equivalent, but if i wanted a mechagnome with an Honorbound Centurion Greathelm, would Change Faction allow me to do that, or would i only have access to the 7th Legionnaire’s Greathelm even after the faction change because they started off as an Alliance race?
Making a Horde character, even one that started out Alliance, into an Alliance character would almost certainly either disable the mog or merely display the correct factional look.

…oh wow, my silly self though the faction just changed, but it makes you change to a race of that faction too. I wish they let Alliance races just turn Horde or vice versa, thatd be a cool traitorous twist to the faction devotion people have with this game.
Unfortunately, that’s not how it works. Even back with the Trial of the Crusader faction-specific tier sets, once you faction changed, it changed to the appropriate faction’s set. Broke my poor little Alliance’s heart when my druid and rogue had lost their Malfurion’s and VanCleef’s respectively.
Same goes for the PvP sets. Some things at this time still are hardbound by their faction identities.

Pandaren and Dracthyr do this. The elves do except their skin colour changes according to which style elf it is.
