Does Blizzard ever unban wow accounts?

Now before anyone jumps in with the you got a 24 hours suspension, then a 72 hours suspension, before it would ever get to a permanent ban, so why would they think you would change now thing – I did not, I will admit to my crime, I ran a bot to farm mats for early Cataclysm raiding, ie - darkmoon cards, and fishes for feasts. This was met with a permanent ban right off the bat. I’m not saying I didn’t deserve it, I was breaking the EULA.

Okay so with that out of the way, I have continued to play for the past 8 years after the ban with no misconduct of any kind. I know what I did was stupid, who risks an account you’ve played on since opening day just to make mat collecting a little easier, well I suppose I didn’t think through to the consequences. Other players had told me of 24 hr and 72 hr suspensions for running fishing bots, so I thought I’d risk it and if I got a slap for it I’d stop.

Sadly I had a lot of fun stuff on that account that you can’t get in the game anymore, and running Cata timewalkers this week I felt nostalgia kicking in and wondered if anyone had ever been given a pardon, or a second chance? Petitioning the GMs falls on deaf ears, and rightfully so, I was bad I got punished, it’s been 8 years though, I just want to log in for my mounts really. :grinning:

Permanent Ban.”

The only time they’ve overturned one, was when it was a timely thing where policy changed/they saw that they were wrong.

I’ve only used the Linux operating system, being Windows free, since the Burning Crusade expansion. I seem to recall that something to do with the way that Linux runs, gave them some false positives which caused the to ban/perm ban(can’t recall which) some people; This was later overturned, in a reasonable amount of time, when they saw it was false positives.

When they gave you one for botting, which as you say actually happened, then “no.”

Hrm, good idea. Should of just posted there to begin with.

The only time Blizzard will overturn a permaban is if it turns out they wrongfully banned you or there’s a chance they wrongfully banned you. Since you yourself even admit you were doing the thing they banned you for, then there’s absolutely no chance they will lift that permaban.

Under certain circumstances I think they will, pending investigation.

You can dispute an account ban and they will at least investigate.
