Why just new accounts? Its a pretty bad stipulation and a piss poor way of things about previous customers.
And its catastrophic to let it go on.
What do you think happens when people cant compete with people that open their wallets to guarantee they get power? Diablo Immortal is a perfect example of what happens with this kind of model in place. The whales get the power, the others dont, those that dont leave and the whales are left there alone. Then eventually the whales leave because the people that are smart and dont spend thousands of dollars on a shield are no longer around to either stomp or gloat at and your game dies.
The best action is the cut out the cancer or you eventually die.
Chill out man, I said I agree with you from a gameplay and moral standpoint. No argument they should have dealt with this a long time ago, and that people cheating should face consequences. I am playing devils advocate and talking about the financial, business side of things.
Why new accounts? Because, despite what many people believe, people are not leaving in droves over this or anything else blizzard has done. These forums represent such a small percentage of the total playerbase. Based on that premise, if tomorrow blizzard banned every RMT/ botter in Wrath, the revenue from there subs is gone and needs to be replaced. All the people that didn’t get banned are already paying, they’re revenue is already there accounted for. Aside from micro transactions, the only way to replace all those banned accounts money is to have more “legitimate players” sign up and start paying.
And that’s why blizzard won’t do it, the amount of people “on the sidelines” waiting for Wrath to be “fixed”( whatever that means to that person) is not nearly enough to make up for all the “illegal” accounts blizzard ignores.
But from a PR standpoint… really think of it. It might be too late but everyone would be talking about it. Asmon would be talking about it, Preach, many other youtubers, streamers, it would be all over reddit that Blizzard actually took action against botters and those that bought gold from the botters.
Or just reset all the gold and give everyone 2k gold or something. What are the people that bought gold going to do? Complain that they bought gold and it was deleted making it easy for Blizzard to target those people for bans? Stick it to these people.
“they make 5 dollars on every token” said so much in this thread - they make 20 dollars. I don’t know where you think the other 15 is going but it doesn’t cost that much from everyone to keep the servers up when they shut down half of them and don’t have to pay GMs to monitor cheaters
They meant vs a normal sub. The question is what is the added benefit of a token vs no token, when considering potential downsides. The answer is, they make $5 more for a sub bought via token vs normal methods
Why don’t you show us your main? I skipped the second half of the thread because it’s a lot of uninformed bickering, but it seems to me that you don’t understand that the token is finite and depends on people purchasing them first, and until you provide some evidence of Blizzard actively manipulating the AH prices that’s an insane claim to make too. The original price is set by Blizzard, but that’s it. Evidence required for further speculation imo.
At the end of the day someone has to spend the 20 bucks to put it up on the auction house, players aren’t just pulling tokens out of nowhere for gold. That’s where they profit. Asked and answered.
Tbh you should consider joining a gdkp. I doubt there are any GDkp’s on Bene still wiping 10 times on Thorim in May… You might actually get a Hm or 2 down even!
