im 36 and ill probably play video games until im dead which wont be too far from now if I dont stop eating the way I have been since covid.
I remember back in the day, middle school and high school people were dying to play diablo and warcraft that didnt have pcs. the few that did, in fact, played those games.
Is this still a thing? are mmos in general just for old people? I play 2-3 diff mmos and for the most part everyone is older, save for some people in FF14 that I believe play on console.
Are we just a group of angry old folk clinging to an old game or does wow and the mmo genre still pick up youngins like a creepy by at the bar?
I try to get my teen brother into the game. He loves RP and playing support characters in other games but for some reason he just canāt be bothered with WoW.
Iāll try again when I see how the level squish effects trial acocunts.
Last night in Scarlet Monastery, everyone including myself, were reminiscing about playing Warcraft as teensā¦mine just happened to end with Frozen Throne and pick up in 2017.
Everyone is older. Only Blizz could say for sure, and thatāll never happen.
Right now before pre-patch, it is much too hard for new people to figure out how to play. My boyfriend just started playing and told me that had I not been there to guide him. He would have gave up. Because the introduction āquestā didnāt show him how to play.
He got lost and frustrated. He is 21 now.
Now imagine you are a teen with a shorter attention span. Thus the reason that Blizzard is making a whole new island for new players. I think this island is going to be a solid way to add new blood ( more importantly) and keep it.
Itās likely a 20 or 30something being a toxic weenus demanding to GOGOGO in leveling dungeons, or pairing every single ability name with ābumhole*ā in trade chat.
I know itās hard to believeā¦ I feel older than I am on the forums. But itās true even though I have no proof. Iāve played WoW since I was sevenā¦

Thatās always fun to think about. Someone my same age making fun of insert gender/race/political view/etc here and acting like a toddler when in fact they are probably married with a family of their own. What a time to be alive!
