Does anyone work on classic?

What are they failing to do? Capitulate to your petulant demands for change - whatever it is this week that you’ve decided is “necessary”.

This is Classic, not Retail.

Chill with your projections, you’re getting straw all over the place.

I don’t think you understand what a strawman is…

Just look up a few posts where you dismissed “it is not wrong for people to expect quality from the service they pay for” to “#NOCHANGES GO BACK TO RETAIL”.

:upside_down_face:

That’s still not a strawman. But what are you not getting that you think you should be getting?

That person wasn’t asking for “changes” from the vanilla version of the game, so yes. It absolutely is a straw man.

I’ll never understand why this forum has so many people like you who simply refuse to have a good-faith discussion about anything.

Firstly, any “lacking” in what Blizzard is doing in regards to Classic implies they are not doing something. As the OP said:

What is it that you guys are asking for? What “work” do you think they should be doing that they’re not doing? What “development” in a game that by definition is not in development?

It can only be change in some way to the way that things are, and the way that things are is the way they were in Vanilla. So change is being asked for. What else are you talking about? The bad faith here is yours.

What I can’t understand personally is how so many of you refuse to do the bare minimum amount of research into what Classic is, how it got here, and why. It would save 75% of the angsty posts that are currently flooding these forums.

And that was a lie.

The PSes did a closer, better job.

Blizzard saying this was the closest they could get is simple falsehood.

I played a couple of the Private Servers. You either didn’t, or are intentionally being disingenuous. They were significantly harder overall, and had a bunch of stuff completely wrong (because they were guessing, the didn’t have authentic data - Blizzard do). They were also crippled at the endgame by corruption, as all private servers are.

This is a nice narrative, but it’s not real.

The ways they were wrong were superior to what is “actual.”

All of the dungeons and raids were significantly harder, and it was the real version of AV, too.

Nost and northdale, btw.

In your opinion. But either way they were wrong, not “Classic”. We have Classic, and IMO it’s far (far) superior.

To each their own.

But no it’s not superior.

It’s an inferior experience that costs money.

That’s your objective opinion, right?

Opinions are subjective. That’s not what this is about.

The PSes, the good ones, were more like actual vanilla than classic was.

That is all.

And they were free.

I was being ironic. But how can you say in one breath they were different, and then that they were more like actual Vanilla? They weren’t be definition. Classic is the actual data. You may not like it, but that’s not the same thing.

We wanted the classic experience and Blizzard delivered. So you don’t like classic? That’s fine. Retail is there for those who don’t like classic

I played vanilla for 18 months of its duration, started about 4-5ish months after launch.

1.12 is the second worst possible version they could’ve gone with, other than the TBC pre-patch.

It’s nerfed as hell.

I’m just here to point out your straw man BS.

Others seem to be looking for #NoChanges… which makes your arguments look a bit idiotic.

I played from Alpha all the way through to BfA with a few long gaps after WoD. I remember Vanilla very clearly. This version of it is fine, I don’t know why you guys hate it so much. But even if you don’t like it, it’s still authentic.

That’s all we we asked for, to be honest. I’m ecstatic it’s here at all.

No they didn’t.

Also Retail is trash, btw.
