Also, why did Blizzard make it so hard to actually talk to someone? I didn’t used to have to put in game issue and install or patch problems. I used to get to this page by clicking achievements and quest problems. BUT NOOOO, that was taken away.
I’m sorry, I’m not usually this upset but I pay for a subscription for this game for me and my partner and half the time it doesn’t work. and now it feels like I can’t even talk to a real person. I have to calorize the issue completely different than what the actual problem is.
shipping and handling quests are absolutely broken. the packages won’t let me pick them up on my warlock but work on my other toons, but on my hunter main, i walk to the area to kill things, like the defuse in the trailer park or the ones in the venture area and they don’t count. it doesn’t even register that I’m in the area. Its absolutely horrible trying to get to 10. I end up having to abandon completely and then restart all over.
ALSO, what happened to the Gleam battle pet? It says that its supposed to drop from Gallagio Garbage, because I’d rather have that then the 6+ Salvaged Goblin Gazillionaire’s Flying Machine mounts that I can’t even sell on the AH.
AND WHAT ABOUT RADIANT ECHOS x5 NOT WORKING? I could have had so many keys done. this is absolutely horrendous of a game to do.
and nothing is being done about anything. but yeah, lets worry about housing for an expac that’s not going to be out till next year.
The phone lines, when they existed over a decade ago, were for Billing, Account access issues, and some Tech Support issues. Between people calling for things the lines were not for, the lines always been full, and cell phones becoming popular and charging by the minute they eventually got rid of the call-in lines.
Most things are handled by Ticket - they used to have Phone Callback and Live Chat for some of those Billing/Tech issues but that went away in the Pandemic and is not likely coming back.
In your case you can’t talk to a GM because they have nothing to do with game Bugs. They are not the folks who take reports, investigate bug reports, or fix bugs. There are VERY rare circumpstances where the Devs may authorize them to fix a specific bug related isssue, but for the most part they have nothing to do with Bugs.
To report a Bug you need to use the in-game Bug Report tool or report on the Bug Report forum. That gets it to QA who do the investigation, documentation, etc. The game Devs are the one who fix it which gets done in patches or hotfixes.
So, you can’t talk to GMs about bugs because that is not their role to handle and they can’t help you.
GMs don’t give game hints or information about drop rates. So again, that is not something they can help with. They never could.
EDIT
This post is pretty helpful as a guide on some of the things a GM can do, and can’t do.
First, let’s cover some things that a Game Master is generally not able to do.
Game Masters are unable to provide Game Hints.
Game Hints consist primarily of providing information on the functionality of the game, drop rates and locations, encounter mechanics, etc…
Game Masters are not Developers. They cannot change game design or otherwise circumvent intended design, nor go beyond the policies that are in place to ensure everyone has a fair playing experience.
Game Masters are not able to resolve potential bugs in-game, though they are sometimes able to help with issues caused by a bug.
Game Masters cannot provide Beta access, they don’t have keys to hand out. Nor do they have release dates for patches or other events. If it is not listed on our website, a Game Master won’t be able to tell you.
The quests your having issues with have you googled the quest? Sometimes others can give hints on what your stuck on. Sometimes being mounted can mess things up
Thank you for this, this is way more helpful than anything that’s been replied.
I’m literally in tears from how frustrated I am.
I apricate you for taking the time to explain this all to me.
With regard to shipping and handling, are you SURE you didn’t accidentally hit 5 to get out of the car instead of 6 (accidentally turning off S&H and having to start over)? It’s really easy to do, IMO they should move the start/stop quest to a less common button but that’s another discussion for another place).
I have fat fingered and done that way too many times, only to discover I’m not actually doing the quest when I thought I was.
While its way less so now especially in Retail, in the Classic versions a lot of its stuff was really designed around self discovery. Sometimes this can be very frustrating especially to new players. Fortunately there are lots of good resources on the internet, as well as the correct server forums can be very helpful when resources like WOWhead come up empty, or don’t help you in the way you need.
First probably figure out what servers version your playing on, Retail, or one of the Classic versions. There are quite a lot, so always make sure you’re searching the right resources, as things change overtime depending on the version, and though say Classic ERA players are helpful, they might have limited knowledge on retail.
From a resources standpoint, I would go in this order
Wowhead - do a quick search, a lot of the quests/items will give you a good idea why they aren’t working, you can also get drop rates on most items.
Ask in general chat on the zone your in, or one of the capital cities. There are a lot of helpful people, just ignore the trolls.
Ask in the server type forums, or in the CS forum
If you go to the forum for help, don’t get carried away making a million posts, also keep the posts simple and concise usually limited to a single issue. In the post, give some detail for example: I am on X server trying to do X quest with my level X mage (example) then a 1-3 sentence description of the problem your facing and what your doing. Also if you get the solution, follow up in your post to let people know you have the answer, then if you still have issues, start a new post with your next issue.
Now sometimes people will get a bit chippy, ignore them and comments like do a search, as you will find far more people out there that are helpful and friendly. Also don’t forget to try asking in General Chat on your server, you can meet some really great people that way.
I wish that was the case. I do not use key binds so I dont accidently click anything. the quests all work just fine on my hunter but my warlock can not pick up or put down the package at all. I just sit where the package is and nothing happens
With some of the Shipping and Handling quests I’ve noticed that sometimes you can be out of phase with it. If you come up against a S&H quest that doesn’t seem to exist on the map when you get to the spot, try progressing the main Undermine story if you haven’t already completed it.
I also find that if I log out on a S&H streak and log back in later, I’ll still have the quest but it won’t trigger when I get to the right area. Only dropping it and restarting the streak will refresh it, which is a bummer, but that’s more of a bug report thing than a GM thing. Dying will likewise end your streak and you need to restart a new chain.
I’ve seen some with the same S&H issue. I haven’t ever been able to replicate myself: The only real issue I have with questing from time to time is the Hot & Cold WQ where you have to find three McGuffins. I always get 2/3 and then the third doesn’t exist until I leave for a good while. Then it fixes itself?
That one always gets me.
As mentioned, you’ll want to share your experience on the Bug Report forum. Sadly a GM wouldn’t be able to help with any of these issues.
I actually just ran into this today. I simply had to run into all the workshop buildings in the quest radius, and find the third one. It sucks, and is definitely worth a bug report, but it’s just a matter of searching on your own without the guide.
