Instead of telling us outright, Watcher did an interview with a German gaming magazine where he said flying would no longer be a part of WoW. They also did this on Memorial Day weekend for extra sting.

Memorial Day Weekend. A very common trick, to try to bury an unpopular announcement at the end of a news cycle right before a holiday.
I remember when we were told that flying would probably be unlocked with an “epic quest chain”, too, and how it would be added with the first major content patch.

If you guys will also remember they had to delay flight even longer after they announced that they’ll add it back, the artists had to go back and finish many areas of the zones.
We were never supposed to get flight in the first place, they were stringing players along.

That’s a very polite way of saying they lied to players for months before the Memorial Day reveal that was the first time some of us had even HEARD of Polygon.

I have to watch how I word things since players are quick to report around here. Once enough of those players report then the system that may or may not be automated kicks in and bites.

I said it in another thread that went to the abyss and I’ll say it again. Years later they still haven’t admitted their mistake and properly remedied the situation. We are still being punished for biting the hand that feeds.

So this same topic of how they went about informing players of the removal of flight is spammed on an almost daily basis? That’s like saying players upset about “catch up” gear being such a high ilvl is the same topic as a master-loot thread since they both deal with gear rewards.
