For all you experts complaining I’d suggest maybe sending an application into blizzard if you feel you can do a better job.
All they know how to do is install battle net and curseforge. Also, don’t forget cleaning the dorito dust and mt dew stickies from their peripherals.
Most people would be overqualified and they wouldn’t be willing to pay what they are worth.
I think i could do a better job if I ran a multi-dollar company such as Blizz, I could barely ration the dimes no where near blizzards 12 dollar net worth
Riveting post. Any other insights? I want to pick your brain
I do think that if I took twice as long as planned to complete maintenance activities, I’d be looking for a new job.
I could do better, and I will tell you how.
Hire people who are qualified, not just because it’s politically correct to hire them.
Well, I was wondering a few weeks ago how they were going to handle Mail backlog for the clone service … appears they didn’t think of that. So, maybe I would do a better job …
Though kudos to the Sysadmins who seem to be doing a great job at the moment responding to what is essentially a project design error.
Edit: I don’t think they’d pay me enough to be interested though.
What do you mean its easy all they had to do was copy paste all the characters man I do that every day while plagiarizing my english homework whats so hard about that. /s
Considering the amount people are getting paid in the industry atm. If you have skills you’re not working at blizzard.
I spilt my coffee this morning.
I hear the faint droning of locusts about to swarm on you.
Developing the game? 100% Back end SysAdmin stuff and programming? Hell no.
At this point…yeah maybe.
Guild name checks out.
No, I don’t “think” I can. I “know” I can finger snap! (Edit: Wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong lol)
I’ve done db cloning and migration and for a project this hyped and this poorly executed I would have been fired. Why would I want to work at Blizzard/Activision? Have you not read how often they lay people off or the bad reviews on Glass Door?
What’s your point OP?
I’m not complaining or thinking I could do better, actually been having a great time watching the forums haha.
I was curious, though, if it would have been a little easier for them to have had two different maintenance periods… the first week copy everything so you have two identical servers and characters (along with the activating on either the one that will become bc or on regular classic) then the next week add in all of the bc stuff to one of them. Obviously it’s too late for that, but I’ve been wondering if that could have been an option or something they could do if they end up doing a LK version.
I did, they went with a diversity hire instead.
I hear If you read it 3 times fast standing in front of a mirror you’ll see the future looking back at you.
Have a Good day!
