Doesn’t changw the fact that its not a good value. Its cumulative, so your not just payimg 15 dollars a mo th for wow. Your paying for the game, and then sub fees, and again, if you play wow for a year, that roughly a biy over 200$. How many games is that today? We can say 3, probably 4. Is wow a better value than 4 games? I think not. Id say its basically one game they make you play over and over.
Sadly I don’t have psi potential. I’m just an ordinary Terran being.
I take it you have a telepathic link to his mind that you knew it was metaphorical the whole time as opposed to literal? But that’s the thing: we can’t necessarily tell what he was thinking when he said it that way.
I know they kept him around but that doesn’t necessarily mean he has more of an executive feel of things. Though many people would like that, WoW doesn’t live and die by his divine wish.
I doubt that can be lied about. The absurd slashing of costs does indeed make for absurd profits. And that’s the funny part about it: even though Blizzard did make cuts, that didn’t really reduce their revenues as much!
I was drawing a contrast between TWO ways you can be profitable. It’s the widely held consensus that Blizzard is profitable by low costs rather than high revenues. Full stop on that argument. I’m sure the financial reports really looked good when servers are becoming more potatoed, when people are getting fired or laid off, when there is more automation(such as forum moderation even, woohoo!) when Blizzconline can be canceled on a whim, etc…
No, the FACTS I gave will do the arguing from now on about that. Less access to capital means Blizz will have to fight HARDER for every dollar they can get, and probably the hardest they ever had to fight for since the Bush Years!
An excuse that has gotten to our chagrin much more legitimate in the latter years.
Congratulations, truly. But I gotta say that not just anyone can say they’re a Wrath baby who’s still active. You somehow survived Cata and even survived the dreaded Borrowed Power era. Good stuff. But think of all your sicklier brothers and sisters that didn’t quite make it…
As peer pressure goes I’ve been guilded most of the time. As one who comes from the old-school of video gaming, I’ve always been a soloist at heart. WoW only got better the less you need to rely on others over the years. And I’ve lived that dream since 6.1.
Azeroth needs an extrinction level event and leave just the bare minimum survive lol.
Then they can rebuild the game LOL!
Maybe to you it’s not but to others it is compared to $30 plus for games that are done and over with what? A day’s play if that anymore. Average console game is what $25 to $100 if not more if you include collector’s edition.
Just 4 cheapo games for console start at $25. So say buy 4, looking at $100 for all tax not inlcuded.
Again maybe you don’t think it’s better but I’d rather stick to $15 a month, all expansions and way more to do and not have to even think of buying a new edition for 2 , 3 years, than a collection of game more than likely will touch once and never again to just collect dust, cuz we all know resale market these days.
Wow, do i get to not only play the same thing over and over this expansion, but the previous one’s too, so content over 2 decades playing it…again lol. I think your telling yourself its a good value, but all it is, is playing the same thing over and over again. That’s objectively not entertaining.
How can a slashing of costs that doesn’t decrease revenue be absurd?
What an absurd framing. Profit means that the costs are lower than the revenue. You seem to be implying that cutting costs is somehow a bad thing, and that the revenue should be higher for some reason, this while talking about one of the most successful companies in the history of humanity.
If you are suggesting that they should spend more money on something, in order for it to make sense from a business perspective it should result in a revenue that is even higher, however you just said that the cost cuts have not resulted in loss of revenue, so this is a heavy indication that the company became stronger and more competitive, which destroys the entire premise of this thread that is WoW is dying.
I have not noticed any difference in server quality recently and I have not experienced any change in moderation methods. If they came to the conclusion that Blizzconline was not going to be profitable and canceled it, that is a good thing. If they fired people that they thought were not contributing, that is a good thing.
There seems to be a perception among the playerbase that jobs should be forever and companies that fire people are doing something bad unless the person being fired is the perpetrator of wrong think. It is just sad how poorly the average person understands the most basic economic principles.
But you just admitted that the company is making insane profits. The company is already getting far more that it needs to stay afloat. The idea that it is going to sink because of increased interest is just absurd.
Then that’s you.
If you don’t like rise wash and repeat what do you think half of console games are. I mean I can name several .Only so many times you can go kill the same zombies and experiments in let’s say in every single Resident Evil for example and still have fun.But there are plenty who will shell out more to continue the same old same old there , why because they choose to just like everyone who plays anything.
You fun may not be another’s and that’s perfectly fine.
Personally it’s more a waste to keep up your sub to post on forums, that seems kinda wasteful honestly.
World of StarCraft once World of Warcraft is gone.
WoW still prints money for Blizzard so no, probably not.
Nope, literally anyone who plays this game is mentally compromised. You can’t think straight, you’re just consuming the content and can’t see outside of it. So, it’s a very tiny, limited scope to see things through. Also, your comments suggest you just play wow and nothing more, so your pool of experience to formulate an opinion is tiny. Most people who play the game are addicted.
Learn about skinner box and how people will do the same thing thousands of times for a small reward even if that action is harmful physically and mentally.
Oh so you’re going that road with people who don’t agree, that’s cute.
If your mental health is is such a state over pixels you have to take things to that level go get checked out you have bigger things to worry with than a game LMAO
It’s well documented LOL. Now you’re just hanging on by a thread and resorting to ad hominen. You’re wrong. I bet you’re playing right now, or thinking about it too, completely blind to how much better your life would be without it. LMAO, LMAO, LOLOLOL
Oh and if you laugh more it means you’re right LOLOLOLOLOLOL.
I’m not the one paying $15 a month for forums to get attention
Oh, so you know my motives now. A wow player who’s not addicted with a straight head on can now read minds. Well, I guess now you’re also delusional.
Will it be?
No.
Should it be?
Yes.
We are at a point where the game engine is seriously holding the game back, the mountain of bugs keeps getting higher and higher with each patch.
Time to put this game down and put their efforts into a new engine.
What’s the first image that comes to mind when you think of a six-shooter? Could it be a gunslinger firing rapidly?
This whole discussion is dumb af, as they’re working on the 7th expansion since Cata. You were wrong.
was wondering why this post seemed familiar, then i figured it out:
looks like youre not the only one who thinks that apparently lol
I’ve worked places where people quit because they were unhappy but then they kept showing up to just chew the fat with their former coworkers. Most of what they would talk about was what they hated about working there, even though they don’t work there anymore. So they would basically talk down their former coworkers’ current place of employment.
I’d always ignore those people. I was busy being where I wanted to be, doing what I wanted to be doing.
Even before SL you could “sense” the drop in quality from Legion —> BFA just with the mission table in BFA
Mission table in Legion? Individualized/unique for each separate Class Order hall, different followers, neat perks, etc
Mission table in BFA? A boring “one size fits all” standardized table regardless of the class you played, with boring followers, cookie-cutter missions, etc etc
That amount is nothing these days. I could get pretty close to that number in one night just taking my family out to dinner at a normal restaurant.
Even people on minimum wage shouldn’t be sweating $15 a month for entertainment. That’s maybe (depending on where you live) two drinks at a bar…for one night.
