I have a certain amount of game time left.
(I think almost two more years).
With that said, starting with a number of changes that began somewhere in BFA until now. I just didn’t feel this was wow anymore or the one I knew.
I didn’t even buy this new expansion.
I read here and there on this forum that the remaining player base feels that during this latest expansion the population of wow has declined (somewhat drastically?)
I of course can’t compare this myself as I don’t even own the new expansion and I barely log in to my remaining characters.
I used to have six toons I believe. I deleted most already, regardless of how high they were just before the end of shadowlands, now I think I have two.
My main question then is do you think that this latest expansion then will be the end? However it ends up and Activision-Blizzard will start with some new fantasy game in the next few years or some other game project?
And if you are wondering at all why I still post on these forums in a game I barely even log into anymore due to the reasons I stated above.
Well, sometimes I miss talking to some of you. I like some of you in this community. So I just wanted to talk to you.
No, this will not be the end of the world (of WarCraft). I think we have at a minimum 3 more.

Well, first off. They have to be given reason to make more expansions. And they definitely do! Money’s there and they will keep at it as needed. And secondly, they did recently release that they have 10 years of work, whether that means 2-3 more expansion to work out before the idea that WoW is at its end.
With that said, Dragonflight is not the end.

It’s not going to be the last expansion, but WoW will never be stellar again either. We’re on the long road to mediocrity, as proven by these performance issues and bugs

I think the subscription is holding it back, and its something they wont give up even if it sinks the game.
Well thats just wrong.
According to the stats, more people are running M+ now than they did in Shadowlands. Shadowlands released during the pandemic when everyone was stuck at home playing video games.
So I would say Dragonflight is doing pretty damn well numbers wise- better than the previous few.

Definitely not. There is too many servers and too much profit to be made. Why would Blizzard end it?

I agree, but only because the kind of player who plays today, is not the same during wow’s glory years.
Everquest 1 is still making expansions…
And you think WoW is going to stop?

they wouldnt have wasted the time reworking so much in the game if they were looking at axing it.
Why bother with making dragon riding when old flight and pathfinder could have gotten them thru another trash expansion and been done.
Reworked professions and the new crafting order thing.
No reason to do anything special if they were calling it quits.
I think if they wanted it to be the last. They’d say so as its announced.
We still have the Light vs Void expac eventually. They might just do away with expansions down the line and come up with something else.
As long as the mmo is bringing them in momey they wont shut it down.
Why would it be the last? They still make money off wow. No reason to call it quits.
Blizzard is already working on 11.0 and see the game going on for another decade.
Not even close? This expansion has its fair share of issues, but considering how well-received it’s been I’d hardly say this is the end, or even close to the end.
“We got expansions lined up like a six-shooter.” Chris Metzen during Cataclysm reveal at Blizzcon(?).
You can do the math, I’m sure.
We’re all sure Retail WoW will still be SUPPORTED like Retail Diablo 2 was supported in the past.
