- Do not break the chat rules. Profanity, or masked profanity is against Blizzard’s code of conduct for all games/forums.
- It does not matter if you directed it AT someone or not. You can’t use the language at all. They don’t care about context.
- The duration of the penalty depends on your past license history. Penalties get longer each time. It is not based on “how bad” what you said was. The exception is that REALLY horrible/illegal things can jump to severe penalties right away. If you are on the normal path though, they increase each time until license closure.
- Nobody was offended. They simply reported you for breaking the rules. Much like cops are not offended someone speeds. You just get a ticket for speeding.
The current social/chat penalty system goes as follows and is subject to change at any time:
- 1st violation - 1 week Silence
- 2nd violation - 1 week Suspension
- 3rd violation - 10 day or 2 week suspension
- 4th violation - longer
- This eventually ends with the license closure
- Continued violations across multiple licenses on a battlenet account can get the whole Bnet account closed.
Breaking the forum rules is not going to work out for you either. Nobody is offended. Nobody even cares. You simply broke the rules
Don’t do that unless you are ok with handling the penalties.
I see you have a Blue reply as well
