Both. I would love to be able to move into TBC, but there should also be the option to simply stay in 1.12. I don’t know the best way to do that, however.
You know what you should do? If you want a discussion about this topic, go to one of the literally dozens of other posts of the EXACT SAME THING. How about add your thoughts there.
Does that sound good? Or you would prefer to be the OP? To come across like its your original thought or idea.
Ofcourse all of this would be years after and after the majority of people have gotten their share of the game and subs begin to wain.
Id suspect if Blizz only did changes from the community widely accepted then we can have a new branch of the game with the same type of vertical progression while keeping the level cap at 60 and not making green items that you replace your hard earned epics with
Do classic servers need to move onto tbc? No. That invalidates the point of bringing them back.
Do i think they should do seperate bc servers? Absolutely.
TBC servers eventually, but entirely optional to play on them.
Basically 3 distinct versions of wow running at the same time… Vanilla, TBC, and Modern.
The only interaction between them I’d allow is that I think it’s OK that a vanilla realm player can PERMANENTLY move that character to a tbc realm.
Those things being said, I don’t think any single server should exist in an era longer than it authentically did. After the ~2 year period is up (ie when the next expansion should have launched) you can choose to move to the next expansion (if it exists) or have the option to retain your basic character appearance, name, and guild affiliation through a server reset/wipe. This is the price that must be paid to keep the servers time locked, without stagnating themselves to death.
As those hopefully show, this isn’t a new discussion. The last is even from before the forum change, the first is less than a week ago.
Holding casual players hostage to a time limit like that would be awful. Why would I want to play the game I love for two years only to have a hard reset because my life/game balance is not hardcore enough?
Separate servers, absolutely. I’d love that. Wrath ones too.
I would prefer horizontal content.
If you can’t handle leveling up once per TWO YEARS, like you’ve been forced to do every single other era of the game, then you are a non factor, because you’ve never once been the target audience for the game in general.
…a steady monthly paying player?
A steady monthly player, who by their own admission doesn’t actually play.
Given your name, and your decision to attempt to directly lobby in favor of CHANGING a fundamental pillar of the game’s design, I’m going to go ahead and assume you are a low effort troll.
Refreshing, another topic “BUT WHAT ABOUT WHEN I GET BORED WITH CLASSIC. WILL YOU UPGRADE ALL THE SERVERS TO TBC SO WE CAN HAVE OUR SLOW DECENT INTO MADNESS THAT WE HAD BEFORE???”
Uhm… Lets start with getting classic online first for 3 or 4 years before worrying about Classic(PLUSULTRA) with expanded servers…
To have classic itself, running 2 different server patches for mixed server sets through 1 client just seems like a terrible headache in the making, btw…
Back to the point at hand:
Horizontal additions = awesome.
Vertical progression to other expansion? = not awesome.
We’ve wanted classic for 14 years. Let us enjoy it a little bit first XD
I dont want my characters dropped down the lowest rungs and have to go back through all the expansions. TBC was AMAZING but small steps. They said they’re finally walking after starting their physical therapy (giving us classic and moving away from retail mentalities) - I do think we might as well wait a little bit before we ask about hang gliding lessons dont you?
I don’t play current WoW, a game that caters to those who crave constant change and forward moving expansions (like you are asking for). Classic WoW is the game I’m hoping to come back to. Nice try, tho.
Yes. What’s the point of Classic if it just keeps going like retail? People need a static version of WoW; one where there actually is an end.
If people want BC they can do separate BC servers and same with WotLK.
You’re the only one that likes this idea; or at least the only one who feels it should be forced on everyone.
Sorry Apocalypse, but it’s just not a popular idea. It’s not going to happen. If people want to stay in vanilla land with their characters they need to be able to do so indefinitely. If populations drop then so be it. There’s plenty of other solutions to any problems that may arise other than forcibly deleting people’s characters.
No, we won’t have to level up our characters and gear them up every two years. Deal with it
You had a limited amount of time to progress in vanilla era content before TBC… What in the world makes you so entitled to think you should receive one second more than was authentically available than that, in classic?
You’re effectively asking for Patchwerk without an enrage timer, and then having the guts, entitlement, outright stupidity, or some combination thereof to pretend it’s remotely authentic… and you’re doing it with a name “Hashnochange”
Take your casual entitlement complex and changes to bfa where that garbage belongs, because by your own words, you don’t actually want anything resembling vanilla/classic.
Well… That’s literally the purpose of Classic; to have a second chance at achieving goals that you missed out on in the limited time that we had vanilla. Resetting again defeats the purpose.
So no. No entitlements. That’s just what most people want from the game. We’re entitled to our opinions on how it should be done and we’ll express those opinions here.
lol
X characters
I don’t give one single damn whether YOU like the idea or not. It’s the only choice for authenticity and avoiding stagnation while remaining in a single timelocked era (the alternative being actually progressing to the next expansion)
Also, as for it’s “popularity”… If stagnation was anywhere near as popular as you and the rest of the casual entitlement brigade claimed it was, there wouldn’t be an overwhelming need and desire for “FRESH” realms on the pservers.
No, the purpose is recreate the experience, as a museum piece. You don’t just get to ignore fundamental parts of the game’s design just because you are feeling overly entitled to making changes.
As for having a chance to achieve those goals again… YOU STILL WILL. You just have to suck less and actually earn it this go around.
