Okay? So it -needed- to be done, yet she legitimately told a Huntress that she could kill hope- and smiled while sending the giant flaming balls of death into Teldrassil. Now we can come to the idea that a anti-hero can lack morality but that single detail sold it to me that she was a villain- even if it was completely necessary she sold it far enough for it to be viewed as enjoyable for her, just to watch others burn.
Pre-MoP Garrosh showed potential.
Pre-BfA Sylvanas showed promise.
Garrosh was fine before MoP. He was showing character development in certain questlines, such as the end of Stonetalon mountains where he executed someone for destroying a village full of innocent druids. Itâs a shame they decided to throw all of that into the dumpster and get him addicted to old god juice to turn him into some sort of half-sha abomination.
as far as villians are concerned Garrosh is better. he was an orc who never meant his far and grew up on a shattered world only to have thrall find him and tell him of his fatherâs legacy. Garrosh joins the horde and leads the northrend expedition, and comes home a war hero. he then has the mantle of war chief thrust upon him in one of the most trying times with every other leader thinking heâs unworthy of the title he even doubts himself. He draws upon the one thing he knows war and attempts to live up to his fatherâs legacy. he wanted to restore a racial pride in his people after the internment camps and his motivations at the very least were understandable. He lost himself to pride and that was his downfall.

I get what youâre saying. But if you (speaking in general, not you specifically) only saw the Warbringers short, which was in my opinion garbage and got me just as pissed off as everyone else initially, then yeah it looked cartoonishly evil.
The novella added a good bit of nuance to the event that showed she wasnât doing it just to twirl her mustache. Sheâs evil, no doubt, but she always has a reason for doing what she does and doesnât care how morally bankrupt the path to get there is, which is what separates her from 90% of the boring 1-dimensional characters in WoW.
Garrosh had a personality and a good voice actor.
Sylvanas is an edgy OC that requires everyone to act retarded so she can get away with her eVuL pLaNs.
okay, but what if like, she was just saying that to sway saurfang into totally backing her? what if she didnât mean what she said, or had ulterior motives and stuff?
Of course she was, one of her key character traits is and has always been (since becoming a banshee) manipulation. The point is, whether she was trying to deceive Saurfang or not, nothing she argued wasnât true.
She clearly has ulterior motives, which Blizzard plans on revealing at some point in the story later, probably, maybe, who knows? âŠand had to convince the rest of the horde to aid her in conquering the Alliance.
As much as I hate this narrative, at least that point is consistent.
