I found it dreadfully dull and lacking in content. I am big fan of elder scrolls III. In fact it felt so big for just a one player. Then they make this mmorpg that is so simplified and lacking in comparison the the solo games. Just play the solo game then go say hi to someone if you are lonely.
ESO about to finally see a major overhaul to their overly inflated champion trees. Biggest shift in the game prior to One Tam and the change away from V14 ranks. Donât know if it will be any better as it sounds it just caught up with WoW Vanilla 2004 with skill trees but we shall see.
I played pretty seriously for a couple years (CP 1020, Gryphon Heart, Immortal Reedemer, most things cleared on V HM if that tells anyone anything). But yea itâs end -game if youâre seriously looking for it doesnât really exist.
I will say I envy their dungeon difficulty and really think their meta achievement system and boss mechanics in 4 man content can pretty amazing and way more engaging then this M+ stuff were you just inflate the number more.
I havent played it in a very long time. I got stuck at the endgame and didnt know how to get better armor for pvp because at the time you either had to farm dungeons or know how to make money and i played solo and found it hard to do.
Although im getting bores of wow and was thinking of trying again.
the stories are pretty great but the combat system turns me off
they basically welded on a wow type ability system because they needed more abilities for people to progress through instead of the fairly simple systems from the single player elder scroll games
I do! Casual fun, nothing too high pressure.
For me its a completely different mindset. Eso to me the questing IS the game. WOW is more a rush to the endgame as thats where the fun is. I have zero desire to do eso endgame so I just run around and explore. It will take me years to finish all the quests I think. When I run out of quests I will probably quit and wait for more lol.
Its a completely diff game from WOW imo. Like others said I can tolerate the combat in single player or easy dungeons but no way am I going to try and master that mess in hardcore modes. But then again thata not why I play.
I am also a little shocked some people think the game looks ugly. At max settings and resolution I find it amazingly beautiful for a mmo. It might have to do with the lighting as I am a huge fan of that and ESO knocks that out of the park.
No but i might .
So the reason there are so many questions is itâs forcing you to explore basically, so then how do you get into a regiment when all the breadcrumbs lead you in different directions?
Canât play two mmos at once. Time and attention. If WoW died or suffered fatally from a dev induced equivalent, Iâd probably go back to ESO again.
I did up until last spring. I just needed a break. The issues that were annoying me were really starting to grate, so I walked away for a bit.
I came back here to see all the xpacs Iâve missed, to play a game where they know how to properly do pet classes, and for the AH. God I missed a real auction house.
I tried to.
The UI is just so bad and cluttered though. The story ultimately doesnât make sense and is just retconning lore from the better games for the sake of having a cash cow exist.
And on top of that, any time I play it I just feel like I can play WoW, which does MMOs better, or play any of the other Elder Scrolls, which do that world better.
I loved eso. The character creation in relation to combat and pvp is the best I have seen in an mmo. Copying and pasting other players builds never works and is why most people will say they dont like the pvp. You need to figure out your own strengths and weaknesses with how you play and build around it.
The problems and the reasons why I stop are that I dont have many people to play with (cant even queue with friends into bg pvp), no mmr system for battlegrounds, and the loot system in the game is non-existent. Even after not playing for a year I could relog into the game go into end game pvp and still 1v1, 1v2, 1v3, even 1v4 a bunch of players despite having no new gear. I could go on for a long time about the difference in pvp and combat and how the difference in skill levels between the top and bottom in eso is like a cliff where the âskill floorâ (the minimum skill required to play) locks players out of content unlike wow where anyone can just be given a character with gear and told to just follow x rotation. There was no incentive to play pve or grind anything for pvp which I love, but also gives me no reason to play addictively. So I always go back for a month have my fun, but get tired of not being challenged as I play against randoms in battlegrounds and have no goals to reach. Maybe 1 out of 10 bgs two out of 3 teams has players of equal skill.
Imagine wow if once you hit lvl 60 and optimized your characters to how you like to play you stopped playing for 3 years. Then when you come back despite 3+ years of expansions you never had to grind and was able to just pvp on an equal playing field against players that never stopped playing. It sounds great, but you have goals to achieve or rated play.
The feeling of being overwhelmed as a new ESO player is common as there is a lot to do and the game is designed with a do it your way approach. This means you donât quest in ESO like Wow or FFXIV where you collect as many quests as you can and complete them. Questing in ESO is better for the most part to stick to the main quest line until it takes you to a new zone. The story based side quests are used to take a break from the main quest, build up your crafting skills or introduce you to things like the in game guilds (not player guilds). I tend to look at the side quests and if they overlap the main quest accept them. If not I come back later. The game has also added a zone guide now to help players see where they are in regards to the main quest line and other zone achievements.
My suggestion if you really want to try enjoying eso is to get a gaming mouse with at least 6 thumb buttons. Keybind 1-5 maybe even ultimate and make mouse wheel change weapons.
Completely changes The game
Tried it, combat felt absolutely dreadful, and the game felt like it was in alpha or something with the way everything moved and looked.
So I was doing it wrong, trying to do all the quests like WoW, but will I be able to level correctly without doing the side-quests?
Yep. Just doing the main stories provides plenty of exp as well talent points.
Hell seen plenty of new players just run to the Dolmens, Gysers, Dragons or Harrowstorms and spam them for a few days to get to max level before starting on any quests.
ESO has everything Iâve ever wanted in a game, only game to ever draw me into the quests
Iâve wasted hours making houses
Love the world
Then the combat suck so much I canât be bothered playing it
Every combat encounter is 2 skeletons that you just smash down to death and nothing feels that threatening
The basic combat animations are bland
Real shame
Iâve played off and on since the beta. I love the exploration but I hate the class system they set up. I also pick up everything so I canât really play without subscribing.
Yeah!. Maelstrom arena champion here. Is a good game IMO
