Seems like every profile I look at they have engineering helms. Is this pretty much required if you are serious? Upside and downside?
Not required. Some specs the helm isn’t that good. Others, it is.
Personally, I like having the AH in the new city. Biggest benefit for me lol. I use the helm too but again, it’s not great for all specs.
With sin and jungle meta, it’s not bad for bleed removal
Cool didn’t know that.
Yea was thinking about those pesky bleeds. Does it remove oozing corruptions too. It states most bleeds so I am assuming some it doesn’t?
Checking out the traits now and has at least 1 main I need so this might be a good option.
It’s sick for cut of death, and assa rogues. It’s really annoying for ferals too but their bleeds also aren’t that much of their kill power compared to bites, whereas assa rogues need their bleeds for regen so it hurts them super hard. Gushing has so much uptime that it’s not really that insane into it.
But it’s definitely not bad
Thanks Dilly I would say my biggest weakness is bleed mitigation so I guess just on this facet alone it’s looking mandatory. Is the proc for the bleed removal frequent enough to really make that much a difference? It says 1.5 procs a min.
It makes a decent difference, I swear I’ve seen times where it chain procs on rng but I honestly could be wrong
But I mean it can save your life if it just procs at the right time, let’s say a full kidney lands and you get off a rupture or garrote, that’ll be huge or just dispelling a Cut of Death proc can be gamebreaking
Really though if you also don’t have that insane of traits overall that’s what really sells engi helm. For hunter the haste or agi proc from the engi helm is better than the other trait combination I could get so there’s no reason not to use it, and since the value of most defensive ring traits has been nerfed you might as well have a random bleed wipe.
Very true points.
Yea the last traits are pretty bad now and it’s probably my main weakness. Getting bleeds wiped as Prot pal because I can’t block bleeds, can block everything else just about. It has a Bulwark of light absorb which most run triple of that and the main stat HP might be good if I get a TD.
Seems like mostly positives.
Thanks for the replies all.
Were you around for WotLK prot PvP, Abom? Is that why you’re so crazy for it?
I’m not judging or trolling. I’ve seen you post here for years trying to hype prot.
I started around 2008 end of TBC. My friends were trying to get me into this WoW thing and I mainly only played D2. I loved D2 (played it since 2000) and would just make different types of PvP/PK builds. However always was fond of the SS barb in Diablo so I started TBC as a Prot Pally seemed natural.
Latter in WotLK I switched to warrior and the rest was history, always wanting to do as much damage as possible with a shield. Just warrior got gutted to much and is a shell of it’s former self.
Prot Pal actually feels like WotLK Prot. Really big mitigation tank and can block spells and dots. Just how Prot should feel. Has flat % reduction and absorbs as well as plenty of tools. Healing, CC immune etc.
Just feels right to play a character in any MMO or RPG that has a shield for PvP.
It has no discernible defensive effect as far as the heal and bleed removal go, but the stat procs are really good
I have straight lived at like 10% health with bleeds proccing breath of the dying.
So it can be a game changer.
However use the more beneficial use for me is the increase to my healing (which also helps my healers and helps me off heal) and the eng stat boost also increases my health so can affect ToD, karma, and fort.
