A better approach would be honestly to dump all of these “mythic” difficulties. Along with “heroic” and M+.
Make dungeons and raids open world. With one appropriate difficulty.
Make elites scale with the aggro list. To keep a challenge adequate to the number of people engaging in it.
Shard only if the server needs to.
Randomize bosses, boss spawns and give weight to encounters that add things like achievements, mounts, transmogs, etc.
Overhaul the M+ system to allow a progressively harder challenge in a “challenge mode” arena in the open world. Where players could engage in progressively tougher raid level bosses for rewards. Of course using the same scaling design.
The idea should be to reward community. To get people playing together again in a space that is dynamic and always changing.
it will last as long as retail keeps going down this path less and less people will be playing classic will be the only thing keeping wow alive at some point there will be more people playing it…lol.
Also find it humorous that you are trying to call out people for doing dungeons they’ve done before while pumping up classic which is a game that’s been done before
millions were playing wow on a private server that was shut down by blizzard remember?thats more then are playing retail now imo.if you dotn think classic can overtake retail if the next expansion is as bad as bfa ill tell you why.
wod start 12m subs wod end 5.5m and bfa had 3.4m copies sold less players then wod.wow subs keep going down hill every expansion.
if the next expansion has m+ and raider io people dont like it now its going to be much less.people will quit or play classic.
When we had badges or rep tabards to work on, we had valid ways to keep a dungeon from becoming obsolete. Half the time in Timewalkers, I am not there for the gear either, but the content is relevant for the reward I am after. (The badges mostly. The quest reward is hardly worth doing 5 dungeons for anymore.)
That’s because you don’t play with them. A new affix is new content. It’s something you’ve never seen or done or dealt with. The first time I encountered quaking? Yeah. That was new content. Stop being a troll with the semantics over this.
Play the dungeons or don’t.
We get it. You want everyone to be mad with you over M+ and you want everyone to concede your point that “the same dungeons over and over isn’t new content.”
Lots of players agree with you. Those of us who enjoy and regularly play M+ don’t. That’s fine. There are many parts in WoW. You can play or not play the parts you choose. Not everyone is the same.
